FAJR REMINDER: LOVING AND HATING TO MEET ALLĀH

Abū Mūsā (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Whoever loves to meet Allāh, Allāh loves to meet him; and whoever hates to meet Allāh, Allāh hates to meet him.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6508]
Generally, nonbelievers are those who dread death. They fear facing Allāh for two main reasons: their attachment to worldly pleasures and the punishments that await them in the afterlife. Ā’ishah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha) relayed that the Prophet (ﷺ) stated: “…But when death comes to a nonbeliever, he is given the tidings of Allāh’s Anger, Torture, and Punishment. Nothing is then more hateful to him than what lies ahead of him; so he hates meeting Allāh, and Allāh hates meeting him.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6507]
However, there are also Muslims who find themselves afraid of death. Even though they yearn for Paradise, they still dislike the thought of dying. The Prophet (ﷺ) indicated that this fear stems from weaknesses that afflict believers, as they too have an attachment to this world. Unfortunately, we cannot remain in this world indefinitely.
Death is, in fact, an inevitable barrier that everyone must traverse on the journey to the Hereafter. For believers, it is a gift. A true believer looks forward to meeting Allāh in Paradise. When the moment of death arrives, as one's gaze becomes fixed and the body trembles with the soul's departure, a true believer finds solace in knowing that this transient world is a beautiful lie (i.e., merely an illusion) and that with Allāh lies the ultimate reward: Paradise.
Ā’ishah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha) also recounted that the Prophet (ﷺ) stated: “…When death comes to a believer, he is given the tidings of receiving mercy, acceptance, and merit from Allāh. Nothing is then dearer to him than what lies ahead of him; so he loves meeting Allāh, and Allāh loves meeting him.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6507]
Strive to be a true Muslim to attain a beautiful ending, for nothing can safeguard one from adversity except Tawḥīd (Islāmic Monotheism).
I beseech Allāh to make us die upon Eemān. Aameen.
