PATIENTLY OBEY ALLĀH

 FAJR REMINDER: PATIENTLY OBEY ALLĀH!

By: Umm Affān

Ramaḍān 12, 1447 (1-March-2026)

We cannot discuss Ramaḍān without addressing the concept of Patience (or Perseverance). The activities associated with this holy month—fasting throughout the day, engaging in prayer at night, dedicating time to Qur'ān recitation, reciting Adhkār, participating in Tafsīr sessions, giving to those in need, and refraining from anything that could invalidate our fast—are all centered around the idea of patience.

Indeed, every form of worship demands patience—patience in fulfilling what Allāh has commanded (i.e., worshipping Him and following His Guidelines) and patience in avoiding what He has forbidden (like Zinā', listening to obnoxious music, backbiting, gossiping, etc.). However, human nature tends to lean towards forbidden desires. Allāh reminds us that Prophet Yūsuf (‘Alayhi Salām) stated: “...Verily, the (human) self is inclined to evil, except when my Lord bestows His Mercy (upon whom He wills). Verily, my Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” [Sūrah Yūsuf (12) Verses 52-53]

Importantly, the motivation to patiently comply with Allāh's Commands stems from the rewards He has promised. We aspire to earn significant rewards (such as Jannah), thus we choose to exercise patience. Allāh tells us that the angels will greet the inhabitants of Jannah upon their entrance: “Salāmun 'Alaykum (peace be upon you) for that you persevered in patience! Excellent indeed is the final home!” [Sūrah Ar-Rad (13): 23-24]

Patience is undoubtedly a noble quality bestowed upon believers. Abū Sa’īd Al-Khudri (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) mentioned: “Whoever would be patient, then Allāh will make him patient. No gift is better and more comprehensive than patience.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6470, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1053]

Allāh has indeed endowed patience with remarkable qualities: it is like a tireless horse, an invincible army, and an impregnable fortress. As we embrace the lessons of patience during Ramaḍān, it is essential to carry these teachings beyond the month. One effective way to cultivate patience is to consistently perform your prayers (Ṣalāt), as commitment to prayer inherently requires patience.

Patience and victory are intertwined; true victory (i.e., Jannah in the Hereafter) is only achieved through patience. If you desire Jannah, be patient!

I beseech Allāh to grant us the ability to obey Him with patience and to reward us with Jannah. Aameen.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
