Please allow me to pause our Tafseer Series today to share this important reminder.

After Fajr this morning, a Sheikh delivered a powerful reminder about speaking the truth at all cost and the danger of lying,  even in jokes. It really touched the heart.

Ramadan is not just about staying away from food and drink. It is about purifying the tongue and the heart.

The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever does not give up false speech and acting upon it, ALLAH Azzawajal has no need of his leaving food and drink. This means we could be hungry and thirsty… yet lose the reward because of our words.

He ﷺ also warned: “Woe to the one who lies to make people laugh.” Even small “jokes” are serious with ALLAH.

SubhanAllah. The tongue is small, but it can either raise us in ranks or empty our Ramadan.

Let us guard our words. Let us speak truth. Let us fast with sincerity — stomach, tongue, eyes, and heart.  *BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
