FAJR REMINDER: THE FIRST TO ENTER PARADISE
By: Umm Affān
Shawwāl 11, 1447 (30-March-2026)
Let’s reflect on Jannah (Paradise). It is a place of perfect bliss and an everlasting abode in the Hereafter—a great reward prepared for the believers. Allāh says: “Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is a great success.” [Sūrah Al-Burūj (85): 11]
Regarding entry into Jannah, the very first to be admitted will be Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ). Anas Ibn Mālik (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, “I will come to the gate of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection, and would seek its opening. The keeper would say, ‘Who are you?’ I would say, ‘Muhammad.’ He would then say: ‘It is for you that I have been ordered, and not to open it for anyone before you.’” [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 197]
Furthermore, the Ummah of Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ), those who believe in him and do righteous deeds from the beginning of his message until the Last Day will be the first nation to enter Paradise after the Prophets of Allāh. Imām Ibn Al-Qayyim (Raḥimahullāh) said: “Paradise is forbidden to the Prophets until Muḥammad enters it, and it is forbidden to the nations until his nation enters it.” [Ḥādī al-Arwāḥ]
Subḥānallāh! The believers will not ordinarily enter Jannah. Rather, they will be received with honor and dignity. Allāh says: “And those who kept their duty to their Lord (i.e. who had Taqwā) will be led to Paradise in groups, till when they reach it, and its gates will be opened (upon their arrival for their reception) and its keepers will say: Salāmun ‘Alaykum (peace be upon you)! You have done well, so enter here to abide therein.” [Surah Az-Zumar (39): 74]
Dear brothers and sisters, let us strive sincerely for Jannah—it is truly worth every effort.
I ask Allāh to grant us Jannah. Aameen
