The Story of the Gift Trays

The Story of the Gift Trays There was a pious man who used to regularly visit the graveyard to pray, make dua , and seek forgiveness for his deceased parents and the other inhabitants of the graves. One day, after performing his prayers, he felt incredibly fatigued and fell asleep right there among the graves. While asleep, he had a vivid, spiritual dream. He saw the graves split open, and the deceased emerged. Suddenly, angels descended from the heavens carrying brilliant, glowing trays covered with light ( nur ) and silk cloths . The angels began walking among the deceased, distributing these trays like gifts. Every deceased person received a tray, and their faces lit up with immense joy and happiness. However, the dreamer noticed one man—his own deceased father—sitting off to the side, looking deeply sorrowful, heartbroken, and completely empty-handed. No angel had brought him a tray. The son rushed over to his father in the dream and asked, "O my father, why are yo...

THE DIRECTION THAT UNITES EVERY MUSLIM

FAJR REMINDER: THE DIRECTION THAT UNITES EVERY MUSLIM By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 25, 1448 (10-July-2026) Every time a Muslim prepares to stand before Allāh (ﷻ) in Ṣalāt, one important condition must first be fulfilled: facing the Qiblah, the direction of the Ka‘bah. For the one who is close enough to see the Ka‘bah, he must look towards it before beginning his prayer to ensure he is truly facing it. As for the one who is far away and cannot see it, he faces its direction because that is the utmost of his ability. This is why, whenever a Muslim arrives in a new town, city, or country, one of the very first things he seeks is the direction of the Qiblah. Before settling into his surroundings, before becoming familiar with the place, he wants to know where to stand when it is time to meet his Lord. Now pause for a moment and reflect. Allāh (ﷻ) says: "The east and west belong to Allāh." [Sūrah Al-Baqarah (2): 142] If the east and the west all belong to Allāh, why then are Muslims co...

TAFSEER OF SUURAH ABASA, QUR'AN CHAPTER 80 continues

BismilLah.  Alhamdulillah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day of the week. Let's continue with our studies of this beautiful suurah from verses 24-32 which speaks about The Sign of ALLAH Azzawajal in our Sustenance. Having reminded mankind of the fact that HE created us, ALLAH Azzawajal now directs us to reflect on another obvious sign of HIS power and mercy: the food we eat every day. Verse 24: "Then let man look at his food." ALLAH Azzawajal commands us to reflect, not merely to look with our eyes, but to think deeply. Where did our food come from? Who sent the rain? Who caused seeds to germinate? Who gave plants their colours, flavours, nutrients, and seasons? No farmer, scientist, or government can produce a single grain without ALLAH Azzawajal first providing the rain, soil, sunli...

Allah's Angels & You

Allah's Angels & You ------------------ بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Abu Huraira (r.a.) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, *“There is not a day upon which the servant awakens but that two angels descend. One of them says: O Allah, repay one who spends in charity! The other says: O Allah, give destruction and more problems to one who withholds charity!”* 📚Source: S‌ah‌i‌h‌ al-Bukha‌ri‌ 1442, S‌ah‌i‌h‌ Muslim 1010 My People, Allah (swt) did not design it that HIS Angels from the sky should be descending to do the jobs of masjid funding and maintenance - a job meant for human beings. THE CHOICE IS YOURS

FAJR REMINDER: THE CHOICE IS YOURS By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 24, 1448 (9-July-2026) One of the greatest gifts Allāh has bestowed upon us is guidance. He did not create us aimlessly, nor did He abandon us to confusion. He created us, created our abilities, created our actions, and then showed us the path that leads to His Pleasure and the path that leads to His Anger. Every day we stand at a crossroads, making choices that will either profit our Hereafter or fill it with regret. How Merciful is our Lord that He did not leave us without direction. Allāh is the Creator of our actions. He (ﷻ) says: “While Allāh has created you and what you make (i.e. your actions)!” [Sūrah Aṣ-Ṣāffāt (37): 96] Yet, despite the clarity of this truth, there emerged a deviant sect known as the Qadariyyah, who claimed that Allāh is not the Creator of our actions. They argued that man independently creates and carries out his own deeds, thereby denying a fundamental aspect of Tawḥīd and disbelieving in Allāh. ...

BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of this beautiful suurah from verse 21 which continue to speaks about Human creation and ingratitude. Verse 21: "Then I, ALLAH causes him to die and places him in a grave." Death is certain for every soul. ALLAH Azzawajal alone determines the time of death, and HE has honoured mankind by legislating burial, preserving human dignity even after death. Unlike many creatures left exposed after death, the human being is buried with respect, reminding us of the honour ALLAH Azzawajal has given the children of Adam. Verse 22: "Then, when ALLAH wills, HE will resurrect him." Death is not the end. Just as ALLAH Azzawajal created mankind from nothing, HE is fully capable of bringing every person back to life on the Day of Resurrection. Resurrection is certain and will occur ...

Set Yourself Free [[-- Episode 6 --]]

Set Yourself Free [[-- Episode 6 --]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Have you ever felt your head is too full? You think and think about what they did. You replay the scene a hundred times. You cannot sleep. You cannot work properly. All of that energy is being stolen. And the thief is not that person who hurt you. Yes. The thief is your own anger. My People, When you hold a grudge, your mind is never free. You are always carrying a heavy bag of stress. This bag slows you down. It makes you less productive. It takes the joy out of your day. *Breathe Out the Poison:* Imagine you are holding a deep breath. Hold it for too long, and it hurts. Your chest tightens. You feel panicked. That is exactly what holding a grudge does to your heart. It locks the stress inside. Now, imagine what it feels like to finally exhale. All that tightness leaves your body. You feel light again. You feel free. Forgiveness is that exhale. When you forgive, you are not saying what they did was ri...

THE FOURTH LEVEL OF AL-QADAR

FAJR REMINDER: THE FOURTH LEVEL OF AL-QADAR By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 23, 1448 (8-July-2026) Dear brethren! Every moment of our lives unfolds under the perfect Care of Allāh. Nothing exists independently of Him, and nothing escapes His Knowledge, Power, or Authority. He alone creates every creature, owns everything completely, places each creation where it belongs, provides for it with perfect justice, knows what is best for it at every stage of its existence, decrees its end when its appointed time arrives, and will resurrect every soul to stand before Him for judgment. How magnificent is our Lord! Allāh (ﷻ) says: “That is Allāh, your Lord, the Creator of all things…” [Sūrah Al-Ghāfir (40): 62] This brings us to the fourth level of understanding Al-Qadar: Al-Khalq—the belief that Allāh is the Creator of everything and the One Who oversees every affair. From the smallest atom hidden from our sight to the greatest creation in the heavens, from what remains still to what moves without ...

BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of this beautiful suurah from verse 19 which continue to speaks about Human creation and ingratitude. Verse 19: "From a drop of fluid I, ALLAH created him and proportioned him." ALLAH Azzawajal reminds us that every person began as a tiny nutfah (drop of fluid). From something seemingly insignificant, ALLAH Azzawajal: Created the human body. Determined each person's appearance, lifespan, provision, and abilities. Perfectly fashioned every organ and faculty. ALLAH Azzawajal says elsewhere: "Has there not come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing worth mentioning?" (Qur'an 76:1). Remembering our humble beginning helps remove arrogance and increases gratitude. Verse 20: "Then 1 ALLAH made the path easy for him." The scholars mention tw...

BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of this beautiful suurah from verse 17 which speaks about Human creation and ingratitude. After describing the greatness of the Qur'an from verses 11-16, ALLAH Azzawajal now turns our attention to human beings and our astonishing ingratitude despite the countless blessings bestowed upon us. Verse 17: "Destroyed is man! How ungrateful he is!" This is serious and a powerful expression of condemnation against the disbeliever who knowingly rejects ALLAH'S blessings and guidance. The phrase "How ungrateful he is!" refers to disbelief (kufr) and ingratitude. The same human being who depends on ALLAH Azzawajal for every breath often denies or forgets HIS countless favours. ALLAH Azzawajal is not condemning every human being indiscriminately, but rather those who p...

Read About Salim

Read About Salim ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Sleep is good. Yes, we all need it. Sleep recharges our body so we can work and live. But listen to me closely. Think about the night. It is long. The world is quiet. And while you are deep in your bed, a special group of people are standing. They are the privileged servants of Allah (swt). They are crying to Him. They are asking for help. They are whispering their secrets to the King of the universe. And some people? They are just sleeping. All night. How sad! My People, You might pray five times a day. You might give charity. You might read Quran. That is all good. But sorry—yes, I am truly saying sorry for some people— not being among those who pray Tahajjud CONSISTENTLY (that's - every night). This reminds me, Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with them) reported, on the authority of his father, that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “What an excellent man Abdullah is! If only he could ...

THE THIRD LEVEL OF AL-QADAR

FAJR REMINDER: THE THIRD LEVEL OF AL-QADAR By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 22, 1448 (7-July-2026) There is goodness in whatever Allāh wills, even when, at first, it appears painful, disappointing, or difficult to understand. Our vision is limited, but the Wisdom of Allāh encompasses everything. How often have we grieved over something, only to later realize that Allāh was protecting us from a far greater harm? And how often have we desired something with all our hearts, only to discover that it would have brought us regret? A businessman was once rushing to catch a flight because he was on his way to finalize an important business deal. As he waited, the Adhān (call to prayer) was made. Instead of ignoring the call of his Lord, he left to perform Ṣalāh. By the time he returned, the plane had already departed. Naturally, he felt disappointed and sat down in sadness, thinking he had lost a valuable opportunity. But moments later, shocking news arrived: the aircraft had caught fire in mid-air...

NOTHING ESCAPES HIS PEN

FAJR REMINDER: NOTHING ESCAPES HIS PEN By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 21, 1448 (6-July-2026) Dear brethren! One of the greatest comforts a believer can ever possess is the certainty that nothing in this universe happens randomly. Every smile and tear, every gain and loss, every ease and hardship, every meeting and farewell—all of them have already been written by the Most Wise, the Most Merciful. When this reality settles in the heart, anxiety begins to fade, complaints become fewer, and reliance upon Allāh grows stronger. We must therefore know and believe with absolute certainty that Allāh wrote all matters fifty thousand years before the creation of the heavens and the earth. That is the comprehensive decree encompassing everything that will occur until eternity. There is also the annual decree on Laylatul-Qadr (the Night of Qadr), during which the affairs of the coming year are apportioned by Allāh's Command. Furthermore, while each of us is still in our mother's womb, four matter...

ALLAH Azzawajal describes the lofty status of the Qur'an. Honoured (مُّكَرَّمَةٍ). The Qur'an is honoured because it is the speech of ALLAH Azzawajal. Nothing is more noble than HIS words. Exalted (مَّرْفُوعَةٍ) Its rank is elevated above all other speech and books. It is preserved with ALLAH Azzawajal and honoured among the angels and believers. Purified (مُّطَهَّرَةٍ) The Qur'an is free from error, contradiction, falsehood, and corruption. It is perfectly preserved exactly as ALLAH Azzawajal revealed it. Set Yourself Free [[-- Episode 5 --]]

Set Yourself Free [[-- Episode 5 --]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم It hurts the most when the person who cut you is the one you once hugged. You never saw it coming from them. That is why the wound stays fresh for so long. Your mind keeps asking, "How could they?" But here is a hard question: Who is carrying that heavy box of anger right now? Is it them? No. They are sleeping well. You are the one who cannot rest. You are the one holding the hot coal. Now, I want to tell you something personal. I have tested something for a while now, and by the power of Allah, it works. I want you to try it too. Just try it. 👉🏼Step 1: Remember your own mistakes. Each time someone hurts you—no matter how deep the cut—quickly remember: "I also offend Allah (swt) many times, and HE still forgives me." But here is the question that will set you free: Who is really hurting here? They sleep. You cry. They eat. You burn. They move on. You stay stuck. The chains of anger are not holding the people who hurt you. The chain  is holding only you. Your feet cannot walk forward to the next better level of life because you are dragging the heavy box of yesterday😃. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of this beautiful suurah. Verses 11-12: THE GREATNESS OF THE QUR'AN.  After ALLAH Azzawajal reminded us about the fact that Sincerity is more important than status from verse 1-10, ALLAH Azzawajal turns HIS attention to remind us about the greatness of the Qur'an and it's purpose from verses 11-16. Verse 11: "No! Indeed! Surely this is a reminder." The word كَلَّا (Kallā) is a strong expression meaning "No indeed!" or "Certainly not!" It draws attention to an important truth. ALLAH Azzawajal declares that the Qur'an is a reminder (tadhkirah). It reminds mankind of: Their Creator. Their purpose in life. The reality of the Hereafter. The consequences of obedience and disobedience. The Qur'an is not merely a book to be recited; it is a reminde...

NOTHING ESCAPES HIS KNOWLEDGE

FAJR REMINDER: NOTHING ESCAPES HIS KNOWLEDGE By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 20, 1448 (5-July-2026) Can a Muslim truly believe that Allāh does not know a thing until after it happens? Sadly, there have always been people who held such a misguided belief. This is not a minor error. Rather, it is a dangerous deviation because it denies one of the fundamental aspects of Qadar (predestination or preordainment) and undermines the Perfection of Allāh’s Names and Attributes. Dear brethren, our hearts find peace only when they are firmly anchored to the belief that our Lord's Knowledge is Absolute and Flawless. Nothing surprises Him. Nothing escapes Him. Nothing is hidden from Him—not what has already occurred, not what is happening now, and not what is yet to happen. One of the four levels of Qadar is to affirm the all-encompassing ‘Ilm (Knowledge) of Allāh. This is a pillar of our faith that every believer must embrace with complete certainty. Allāh says: “And Allāh is the All-Knower of each and...

Prepare Yourself

Prepare Yourself ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Imagine you are holding a gift of bank check (in your name) worth millions of dollars. But while walking, you drop it in a fire and watch it burn to ash. You would scream! You would cry! Now, listen to this truth that will shake your heart: That is exactly what happens to most of us every single Friday. Yes because anyone who comes to Jummah and listens carefully while imam is on the minbar, gets huge rewards, Allah's mercy and forgiveness. That is a massive treasure! But, Majority of Muslims today lose ALL of this treasure. They walk into the mosque hoping for rewards, mercy and forgiveness, but they walk out with empty hands. Why? Only because they did not know the simple things that destroy their reward. Today, While the imam is on the minbar saying the khutbah, look around us today. We talk and discuss worldly matters. We press our phones. We run from one website to another on the internet. We even answer phone calls! ...

A JOURNEY OF EFFORT AND DIVINE HELP

FAJR REMINDER: A JOURNEY OF EFFORT AND DIVINE HELP By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 19, 1448 (4-July-2026) This morning, let us reflect on yet another profound lesson from the Hijrah of our beloved Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) from Makkah to Madīnah.  One of the greatest lessons we learn is this: when you sincerely do your part for Allāh's Sake, He will never abandon you. We are commanded to make every lawful effort, place our trust in Him, and leave the outcome in His Hands. Whoever strives to support the Cause of Allāh and relies upon Him will find that Allāh's Help comes in ways beyond imagination. The Prophet (ﷺ) did not simply wait for miracles. He carefully planned the journey, took every practical means to protect himself and preserve Allāh's Religion, and then entrusted the result to his Lord. In return, Allāh protected him every step of the way. As Allāh (ﷻ) says: “O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allāh, He will help you, and make your foothold firm.” [Sūrah Muḥamma...

"Or that he might be reminded, and the reminder would benefit him." 5. "As for the one who considers himself self-sufficient," 6. "To him you give your attention." 7. "Yet you are not responsible if he does not purify himself." Commentary (Tafseer):  These verses continue ALLAH’S loving instruction to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and establish timeless principles for anyone who calls others to ALLAH Azzawajal. WHERE WAS YOUR HEART IN ṢALĀH?

FAJR REMINDER: WHERE WAS YOUR HEART IN ṢALĀH? By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 18, 1448 (3-July-2026) Have you ever completed your Ṣalāh, uttered the Taslīm, and then paused with a heavy heart because you could barely remember what you had just recited in it? You stood before Allāh, yet your mind wandered through the affairs of the Dunyā. You said “Allāhu Akbar,” but within moments you were thinking about your grocery list, unfinished office work, a business email you forgot to send, or even a conversation from years ago. The prayer ended, but your heart never truly arrived. Your body worshipped, while your mind travelled elsewhere. Few things are more painful than realizing that we have just spent precious moments standing before the King of kings, yet we failed to experience the sweetness of that meeting. Ṣalāh was never meant to be a series of movements performed out of habit. It is our private conversation with Allāh, a time to seek comfort, pour out our hearts, and reconnect with the O...

THE BEAUTY OF GRATITUDE IN MARRIAGE

FAJR REMINDER: THE BEAUTY OF GRATITUDE IN MARRIAGE By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 17, 1448 (2-July-2026) Have you ever reflected on why the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) informed us that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-Fire are women? It is a question that deserves sincere contemplation—not to discourage or frighten women, but to remind us of a habit that can have enormous consequences in this life and the next: ingratitude. Gratitude is one of the finest qualities a believer can possess. It reflects humility, sincerity, and recognition of the blessings Allāh has placed in our lives. A grateful heart appreciates both the Giver of blessings and the means through which those blessings arrive. Ibn ‘Abbās (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhuma) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “I was shown the Hell-Fire and the majority of its dwellers were ungrateful women. It was asked, ‘Do they disbelieve in Allāh?’ (Or are they ungrateful to Allāh?) He replied, ‘They are ungrateful to their husbands and are ungrateful for the...

Meaning: The Prophet sallallahu alaihi frowned and turned his attention elsewhere. Commentary: ALLAH Azzawajal begins with a gentle but powerful correction. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam  did not speak harshly, nor did he insult the blind Companion. Yet ALLAH Azzawajal cared about the feelings and dignity of a believer seeking guidance. Verse 2. أن جاءۀ الأغفى "Because the blind man came to him." Meaning: The reason for the frown was the arrival of the blind Companion. Commentary: ALLAH Azzawajal mentions the man's blindness not as a deficiency but to highlight that he could not even see the Prophet's ...

WHOM DO YOU TAKE YOUR DĪN FROM?

FAJR REMINDER: WHOM DO YOU TAKE YOUR DĪN FROM? By: Umm Affān Muḥarram 16, 1448 (1-July-2026) The more you learn about Islām from authentic sources, the more convinced you become that it is the true religion revealed by Allāh for all people until the end of time. Islām is a religion that is simple, rational, clear, and comprehensive. Its beauty has no limit because it originates from the Infinite One—our Creator and the Only True God worthy of worship. Among the greatest blessings Allāh has bestowed upon us is that He guided us to this perfect religion. As Allāh (ﷻ) says: “…This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islām as your religion…” [Sūrah Al-Mā’idah (5): 3] Being a Muslim is purely a favor and mercy from Allāh. Therefore, seeking authentic Islāmic knowledge and striving to practice it correctly should be among our greatest priorities. However, every sincere seeker must ask an important question: From whom do I tak...

The opening verses refer to an incident involving the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a blind Companion, ‘Abdullah ibn Umm Maktum. One day, the Prophet ﷺ was speaking with some influential leaders of Quraysh, hoping that they might accept Islam and that their acceptance would strengthen the Muslim community. During this conversation, Ibn Ummĥĥɓ Maktum رضي الله عنه came seeking guidance and asking the Prophet ﷺ to teach him from what ALLAH had taught him. Because the Prophet ﷺ was focused on the leaders, he frowned slightly and turned away momentarily from the blind man. ALLAH Azzawajal immediately corrected HIS Messenger through revelation, not because the Prophet ﷺ committed a major sin, but to teach the Ummah that sincere seekers of guidance are more honoured in the sight of Allah than arrogant p...

A FINAL REMINDER TO EVERY HUSBAND AND WIFE

BismilLahir Rahmanir Raheem.  Based on our topic for the past 2 days, let's be reminded that Marriage in Islam is an act of worship (ʿIbaadah), not merely a social contract or a relationship based on emotions. It is one of the greatest trusts that ALLAH Azzawajal places upon two believers. It can become a source of immense blessings in this world and the Hereafter, or it can become a source of hardship and regret if the rights of one another are neglected. ALLAH Azzawajal says: "And among HIS signs is that HE created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find tranquillity in them, and HE placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed, in that are signs for people who reflect." (Qur'an 30:21). Every husband will stand before ALLAH Azzawajal and answer for how he treated his wife. Likewise, every wife wil...
