HOW HONESTY SHAPED GENERATIONS

FAJR REMINDER: HOW HONESTY SHAPED GENERATIONS By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 15, 1448 (30-July-2026) The remarkable honesty of the young milkmaid did not go unnoticed. Determined to honour her integrity, the Khalīfah, ‘Umar Ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu), summoned both her and her mother to his court. As they stood before the leader of the Muslims, the mother trembled with fear, overwhelmed by the gravity of the moment. Her daughter, however, remained calm, composed, and confident. Such is the strength that accompanies truthfulness. A person who has committed no wrongdoing has little reason to fear standing before a just ruler. In the presence of those gathered, the Khalīfah recounted how he had overheard the conversation between the mother and her daughter concerning the adulteration of the milk. He praised the young woman for choosing obedience to Allāh over obedience to His creation, though it meant respectfully disagreeing with her own mother.  When someone suggested that the mo...

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 13-]]

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 13-]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Think of your marriage as a special garden you are building for the sake of Allah (swt). Your kindness to your spouse is not just for him or her. It is a seed you plant for the sake of Allah (swt). Each of these seeds grows in Paradise. Ask yourself this one question: "If I left this world today, would my goodness leave a hole in my spouse's heart that no one else can fill?" This is not about being a slave. No! This is about being a smart investor for your soul. Look at the example of Nana Khadijah (RA). She was the first wife of the Prophet (PBUH). She was his comfort, his business partner, his first believer. She gave him everything. And what was her reward? At the end of her life, the Angel Jibreel came with a message from Allah HIMSELF. The message was this: She has a palace of shining pearls waiting for her in Paradise. Why? Because her service to her spouse was, in truth, her worship to...

WHEN TAQWĀ SHAPES DESTINY

FAJR REMINDER: WHEN TAQWĀ SHAPES DESTINY By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 14, 1448 (29-July-2026) How true is the Statement of Allāh (ﷻ): “Is there any reward for good other than good?” [Sūrah Ar-Raḥmān (55): 60]  For the honesty of the milkmaid, the Khalīfah ‘Umar (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) said: “A daughter like her would be a great wife for my son. Someday she would make a good mother—strong, honest, and a great role model. Because she is so good, she should be given the greatest gift in the nation. Everyone in the nation should learn how to be good like her.” This teaches us that obedience deserves recognition, just as wrongdoing deserves accountability. It is therefore from wisdom that leaders and parents encourage righteousness by honouring those who demonstrate sincerity, honesty, and upright conduct. Rewarding good inspires others to follow the same noble path. The Khalīfah's desire for his son to marry this righteous young woman also provides valuable guidance. It reminds us that parent...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Arba'a | 15th day of Safar, 1448 AH | Wednesday, 29th July, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah Assalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullah. Let's continue with our studies of Surah An-Naazi'aat from verse 11 as ALLAH (azza wa jal) continues to inform us about the state of disbelievers on Judgment Day. Verse 11 أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً "Even after we have become decayed bones?" Meaning, The disbelievers argued that once their bones had decayed and crumbled, resurrection would be impossible. ALLAH (azza wa jal) repeatedly answers this misconception throughout the Qur'an. "Does man think that ALLAH (azza wa jal) will not assemble his bones? Yes indeed! WE are Able even to proportion his fingertips." (Qur'an 75:3–4). The One who created mankind from nothing can certainly recreate them. Verse 12 قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ "They said: 'That would then be a losin...

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 12-]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) married Aisha (r.a.) according to Allah’s command, coming from the dreams the Prophet had. *What to do when you have dreams (good or bad):* It's important to note that the truthfulness of the dream is related to the sincerity of the dreamer. Those who have the most truthful dreams are those who are the most truthful in speech. 📚Muslim, 4200 Furthermore, The most truthful of dreams are those that are seen at the time of suhoor, ie - between 3:30AM to 5:30AM [just before dawn], for this is the time when Allah (swt) descends and when mercy and forgiveness are close. It is also the time when the devils are quiet, unlike the time of darkness just after sunset, when the devils and devilish souls spread out. 📚(See Madaarij al-Saalikeen, 1/50-52) My People! Purely for Sisters

Purely for Sisters ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Imagine there is a secret club. This club only opens at night when everyone is sleeping. To join this club, you must do one thing: leave your warm, comfortable bed. This club is called Tahajjud. Allah (swt) knows that leaving your bed at night is very hard (especially when the prayer is voluntary). Very few people can do it. That is why this club has the best goodies and rewards. The best gifts are kept for its members. Here is the best part: Your membership never stops. Not even during your menses. My Sister, Many women think, "I can't pray during my period, so I can't join the Tahajjud club." This is not true! Listen carefully: It is not your fault that you have your period. It is not a punishment. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Verily this is a matter Allah has written upon the girls of Prophet Adam (a.s.)…” 📚[Bukhari] When you wake up, you can: (1) Say lots of Astagfirrullah (2) R...

STANDING FIRM UPON THE TRUTH

FAJR REMINDER: STANDING FIRM UPON THE TRUTH By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 13, 1448 (28-July-2026) Again, let us return to the remarkable story of the pious milkmaid. After overhearing the conversation between the mother and her daughter, the Khalīfah, ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khaṭṭāb (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu), became aware of the mother's intention. The following day, he sent a man to purchase milk from her. To his surprise and delight, the milk had not been adulterated. The young woman had remained true to her principles, refusing to obey her mother in an act of disobedience to Allāh. She recognised the difference between right and wrong and chose the pleasure of her Lord over the approval of her mother. What a remarkable example of sincerity, courage, and steadfastness! This incident offers timeless lessons for every Muslim. Abū Sa’īd al-Khudrī (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, “Whoever among you sees evil, let him change it with his hand. If he cannot do so, then with his tong...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Athalaatha | 14th day of Safar, 1448 AH | Tuesday, 28th July, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah Assalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullah. Let's continue with our studies of Surah An-Naazi'aat from verse 9 as ALLAH (azza wa jal) continues to inform us about the state of disbelievers on Judgment Day. Verse 9 أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ "Their eyes will be lowered in humiliation." Meaning: Their eyes will be cast down in disgrace because they can no longer deny the reality of the Hereafter. Those who were arrogant in this life will stand before ALLAH azzawajal in complete humiliation. ALLAH azzawajal says: "And all faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer." (Qur'an 20:111). Verse 10 يَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ "They say: 'Will we really be returned to our former state?'" Meaning: This records the mockery of the disbelievers in Makkah. T...

WHO IS WATCHING YOU?

FAJR REMINDER: WHO IS WATCHING YOU? By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 12, 1448 (27-July-2026) In continuation of the story of the mother of Laylā Bint ‘Āṣim—the grandmother of ‘Umar Ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz—we encounter a remarkable example of faith, honesty, and consciousness of Allāh. It is the story of a young milkmaid who refused to adulterate milk, not because she feared being caught by people, but because she feared Allāh. Her mother urged her to add water to the milk, saying, “We are too poor. It is the only way we can earn enough money to provide for ourselves. The Khalīfah has forgotten us, and he won’t know what we did.” Poverty, or the fear of it, has led many people into sin. Some resort to theft, bribery, embezzlement, fraud, and other unlawful means under the disguise of financial hardship. Others become so consumed by the pursuit of wealth that they no longer distinguish between what is lawful and unlawful. The reality, however, is that Allāh has already decreed everyone's sustenance. H...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Al-ithnayn | 13th day of Safar, 1448 AH | Monday, 27th July, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat. Verse 7 تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ "It will be followed by the second blast." This refers to the second blowing of the Trumpet, after which all mankind will be resurrected from their graves. Commentary ALLAH Azzawajal says: "Then it will be blown again, and behold, they will be standing, looking on." (Qur'an 39:68). The Prophet ﷺ informed us that the interval between the two blasts is forty, but when asked whether it was forty days, months or years, Abū Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said, "I refuse to speculate." This leaves the duration known only to ALLAH Azzawajal. (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim). Verse 8 قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ "Hearts on that Day will tremble." Meaning: The hearts of those who denied ALLAH...

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 11-]]

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 11-]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم The story am about sharing now is true - Wallahi Tallahi Billahi: "A brother was worried. He had a bad dream, not once, but twice. In the dream, evil beings told him, "You are a strong wall protecting your family. We cannot reach them, so we will finish you." They tried to attack him, but they could not. Everything they did bounced back to them. This brother had a strong habit. Every single time he left his house, even for a short trip, he would recite Ayatul-Kursi and other Azkar for leaving the house. Then, as he walked or drove, he would be reciting the chapters he had memorized. One day, he went to a place inside his town. As usual, he was reciting the Qur'an on his way. At one spot, an accident happened. It was not a normal accident. It was as if someone had planned it. He only got a few small bruises. It was not serious. That night, in his dream, one of the wicked beings appeared....

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 10-]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Think about your phone. Every day, you charge its battery. If you forget, it turns off. You feel lost without it. Your soul is the same. It needs a daily power charge. The world is full of things that drain your soul's battery: lies, bad talk, anger, forgetting Allah, all sins. These are not just mistakes. They are a sickness. They make your soul weak. But, Allah (swt) has given you the perfect charger for your soul: The Holy Quran. Yes! Just a minimum of one page of the Quran every day (outside Swalah) is the strongest medicine & a powerful charger. It is like a direct light from Allah that cleans your heart from the inside. When you read it, it washes away the bad. It makes your soul strong and healthy. It helps you fight the sickness you see and the ones you did not see. Good News! Allah (swt) is the Most Kind. He knows your life is busy sometimes and you may not sometimes, have plenty minutes ...

WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU?

FAJR REMINDER: WHAT KIND OF PERSON ARE YOU? By: Umm Affān Ṣafar 11, 1448 (26-July-2026) What kind of person are you? How do you measure your righteousness? Which noble qualities define your character? These are questions every Muslim should ask themselves from time to time. One of the greatest signs of true faith is excellent character. Ā‘ishah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) stated, “Verily, the most complete of believers in faith are those with the best character.” [Sunan At-Tirmidhī 2612] Let me share a remarkable story from the Khilāfah of ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khaṭṭāb (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu). It is a famous historical account, reported by several historians, that the mother of Laylā Bint ‘Āṣim—the grandmother of ‘Umar Ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz—was a pious milkmaid who refused to adulterate milk out of fear of Allāh. The story appears in several historical and biographical works, including Ṣifat aṣ-Ṣafwah of Ibn al-Jawzī (Raḥimahullāh), Al-Bidāyah wa an-Nihāyah of Ibn Kathīr (Ra...

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaumul Ahad | 12th day of Swafar, 1448 AH | Sunday, 26th July, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from verses 6-14 which speaks about the certainty and terror of the day of Judgment and Resurrection.  After ALLAH Azzawajal swears by HIS noble Angels in verses 1–5 to emphasize the certainty of the Resurrection, HE now describes some of the terrifying events of the Last Day and exposes the false claims of those who denied that they would ever be brought back to life. These verses vividly portray the overwhelming scenes of the Day of Judgment and affirm that resurrecting mankind is effortless for ALLAH Azzawajal. Verse 6 يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ "On the Day when the first blast will shake everything."  The majority of the classical mufassirūn, including Sheikh Ibn Kathīr and Sheikh At-Ṭabarani may ALLAH Azzawajal be pleased with them, explain t...

Don't Forget This [[--Episode 9--]]

Don't Forget This [[--Episode 9--]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Look at your challenges now. It feels big, right? It feels heavy. You feel helpless. But to Allah, it is small. Yes. Allah (swt) is the One who moved a mountain from a cave. Allah is the One who saved Prophet Yunus (A.S) from the dark inside a huge fish. Your trouble? Allah (swt) can remove it in a second. So why do we panic? Why do we cry,: saying "Why me?" We act as if Allah (swt) cannot see us. We forget HIM. This is our biggest mistake. Let’s remember this: *“Three persons of a people before you, were on a journey when they were overtaken by a storm and therefore they took shelter in a cave. A rock slipped down from the mountain and blocked the exit from cave. One of the 3 men supplicated: “O Lord, I had a cousin that I loved more passionately than any man could love a woman. I tried to seduce her but she would refuse, till in a season of great hardship due to famine, she approached me (for...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum As-sabt | 11th day of Swafar, 1448 AH | Saturday, 25th July, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NĀZIʿĀT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah.  Assalaamu Alaikum WarahmatulLah. Today, we continue our study of Suurah An-Naazi'aat (Qur'an 79) Verses 4 and 5. In these opening verses from verses 1-5, ALLAH Azzawajal swears by groups of HIS noble Angels, each of whom has been entrusted with specific duties in carrying out HIS commands. These oaths are not because ALLAH is in need of swearing, but to draw our attention to the greatness of what is about to be mentioned from verse 6 going. The scholars of Tafsīr explain that whenever ALLAH Azzawajal swears by any of HIS creation in the Qur'an, it highlights the importance of the subject that follows. Such oaths prepare the listener for a profound truth, a solemn warning, or a momentous event that deserves careful reflection. As we will begin studying from verse 6 tomorrow, in shaa ALLAH, the focus of the ...
