A PATHWAY TO GOODNESS

FAJR REMINDER: A PATHWAY TO GOODNESS By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 7, 1448 (20-August-2026) Those who have living parents should always show them kindness and respect, as they are a precious source of blessings, a means of having your prayers answered, and a pathway to goodness in both this life and the Hereafter. Therefore, worship Allāh and be dutiful to your parents. A well-known Ḥadīth tells the story of three men trapped in a cave, narrated by ‘Abdullāh Ibn ‘Umar (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhumā). In this story, one of the men called upon Allāh through a sincere deed of dutifulness towards his parents. He said: “O Allāh, I had two old parents with my wife and young child. I tended to a flock, and when evening came, I milked them and served my parents first before my child. One day, I went in search of fodder and did not return until evening. I found them both sleeping, so I milked as I had done before. I brought the milk and stood by their heads, for I hated to disrupt their sleep or serv...

TAFSEER OF THE FIRST TAKBĪR; ALLĀHU AKBAR

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Al-khamis | 8th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Thursday, 20th August, 2026.  *_TAFSEER OF THE FIRST TAKBĪR; ALLĀHU AKBAR_*. BismilLah.  When we stand to begin salah, we say: اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ Allāhu Akbar;  ALLAH is the Greatest. This is called Takbīrat al-Iḥrām (تكبيرة الإحرام) because with it, we formally enter the prayer. The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam taught us to begin the prayer with takbīr. It is not merely a phrase we pronounce with our tongue, it is a declaration of what should happen in our hearts. When you say Allāhu Akbar, you are reminding yourself: ALLAH is greater than my worries. ALLAH is greater than my problems. ALLAH is greater than my wealth. ALLAH is greater than my business. ALLAH is greater than my job. ALLAH is greater than my family and responsibilities. ALLAH is greater than the people I fear. ALLAH is greater than anything occupying my heart. You have just left the concerns of the world behind and t...

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 23-]]

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 23-]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم A happy wife makes a happy life—this age-old proverb holds more truth than many men realize. When a man takes the time to understand his wife’s desires, he doesn’t just light a fire in the bedroom; he keeps the home warm. *"A woman who is well-loved in the dark will shine brightly in the light."* A man who neglects his wife’s sexual needs is like a farmer who plants seeds but refuses to water them—nothing will grow. If he fails to tend to her garden, another man’s shadow may loom over the fence😀.  In many homes today, Emotional neglect is the first crack in the dam. Yes. When a husband turns away from his wife night after night, she begins to question her worth. The mind wanders, the heart aches, and the body—deprived of touch—starts responding to the slightest attention from another man. Some women endure for years, swallowing their desires like bitter pills, but *"even the most patient k...

UWAYS'S LEGACY OF BIRR AL-WĀLIDAYN

FAJR REMINDER: UWAYS'S LEGACY OF BIRR AL-WĀLIDAYN By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 6, 1448 (19-August-2026) The significance of Birr al-Wālidayn—dutifulness and excellence towards one's parents—can never be overstated. Among the most beautiful examples of how such dutifulness can elevate a person to an extraordinary rank with Allāh is the story of Uways Ibn ‘Āmir al-Qaranī (Raḥimahullāh). His story teaches us that a person may be virtually unknown among people while being honoured and recognised in the Sight of Allāh. Uways lived during the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ), believed in him, and yet remained in Yemen with his mother to care for her. For this reason, he is regarded as a Tābi'ī, not a Companion. ‘Umar Ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) say: “Worthy amongst the Tābi'ī would be a person who would be called Uways. He would have his mother (living with him) and he would have (a small) sign of leprosy. Ask him to be...

TAFSEER OF THE DUA OR SUPPLICATION AFTER ABLUTION continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Arba'a | 7th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Wednesday, 19th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF THE DUA OR SUPPLICATION AFTER ABLUTION continues_*. BismilLah.  Let's conclude with our studies of the dua after ablution.  وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ Make me among those who purify themselves. This has both an outward and inward meaning. Outward purification: Keeping our bodies, clothes and places of worship clean. Inward purification: Purifying the heart from sins and diseases of the heart. A Muslim therefore seeks both: Clean body + clean heart + sincere worship = Successful Act of worship.  Every time you finish wudhu, think: “ALLAH Azzawajal has allowed me to wash myself before standing before HIM. May HE also purify my heart before I stand before HIM.” And then say the dua with understanding not merely with the tongue. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal make us among at-Tawwābīn (those who constantly repent) and al-Mutaṭahhirīn (those who purify...

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 22-]]

Don't Forget This [[-Episode 22-]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم Religious leaders preach patience but rarely hold men accountable for emotional neglect. The neglected wife is told to *"make dua"* (pray), while the husband faces no consequences for his imbalance. Also, Communities often turn a blind eye, whispering *"it’s a private matter"* or *"she should be more patient."* But as the proverb goes, *"The axe forgets, but the tree remembers."* These women carry scars no one sees.  Muslim Faithful! When a man marries multiple wives but fails to balance his affections, he doesn’t just break hearts—he fractures families. Yes. And the neglected wife watches as her co-wife’s children receive gifts, education, and paternal love, while her own are treated like afterthoughts. These women endure emotional trauma in silence, swallowing their pride because society tells them *"a good woman bears her pain with patience."* But patie...

Allah's Best Slave

Allah's Best Slave ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Allah (swt) asks a powerful question in the Quran: أَمَّنۡ هُوَ قَٰنِتٌ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيۡلِ سَاجِدࣰا وَقَآئِمࣰا يَحۡذَرُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ وَيَرۡجُواْ رَحۡمَةَ رَبِّهِۦۗ "Is the one who prays in the dark of the night, bowing and prostrating, who fears the Hereafter and hopes for his Lord's mercy, is that person like the one who does not?..." 📚(Quran 39:9) The answer is clear: No! They are not the same! Allah (swt) knows how hard it is. HE knows the war you have with your bed. HE sees you fighting your tired body and your sleepy eyes, all just to worship HIM. This is why Allah HIMSELF praises the people of Tahajjud. He says they are never, ever like those who squandered the entire night sleeping. My People, When you pray Tahajjud CONSISTENTLY, you are not an ordinary worshipper before Allah (swt). Yes. You are in the special list of Allah. You are doing something that makes you stand out. Furthermore, The Prophet...

DUA OR SUPPLICATION AFTER ABLUTION

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum athalaatha | 5th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Tuesday, 18th August, 2026. *_DUA OR SUPPLICATION AFTER ABLUTION continues_*. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of the dua after ablution.  وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ I bear witness that Muhammad is HIS servant and Messenger. Notice the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam is described first as “HIS servant” (ʿabd) and then “HIS Messenger.” This teaches us something important: the greatest honour of a human being is to be a servant of ALLAH Azzawajal. We also affirm that Muhammad (S.A.W) is ALLAH'S Messenger, meaning we worship ALLAH Azzawajal according to the guidance brought by the Prophet not according to our personal desires. اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ Oh ALLAH, Make me among those who constantly repent” At-Tawwābūn refers to people who repeatedly return to ALLAH Azzawajal in repentance. This is especially powerful after wudhu. Why? Because w...

DUA OR SUPPLICATION AFTER ABLUTION continues

BismilLah.  Tafseer and Reflection on the dua after ablution.  “I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except ALLAH Azzawajal” أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ Wudhu begins by washing the body, but this dua reminds us that true purification begins with the heart. We wash our face, hands, mouth, nose, head and feet, but the greatest purification is purification from: Shirk, Arrogance, Envy, Hatred Sins, Disobedience to ALLAH Azzawajal.  So every time we make wudhu, we should remind ourselves: “Just as I am washing my body, I must also work on cleansing my heart.” “Alone, without any partner” وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ This is a declaration of Tawheed. ALLAH Azzawajal is One in HIS LORDSHIP, WORSHIP, NAMES and ATTRIBUTES. Therefore, our worship, dua, hope, fear and ultimate reliance should b...

Tired or Retired?

Tired or Retired? ----------------- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Sleep is an important part of living and is a way to recharge your batteries to prepare yourself to continue your daily activities. But, There is something about sleep many of us take for granted. Yes. Many of us take it that - *"It is a MUST for everyone who go to sleep to wake up from sleep"*- whereas, the matter of waking up from sleep is purely Allah's *The Dead And The One Sleeping:* In this life, the soul and the body are together except during sleep when the soul may leave the body and come back in the morning or anytime or Allah may take the soul at that time. Allah (swt) say: ٱللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلْأَنفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَٱلَّتِى لَمْ تَمُتْ فِى مَنَامِهَا ۖ فَيُمْسِكُ ٱلَّتِى قَضَىٰ عَلَيْهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ “It is Allah that takes the souls at death; and those that die not (He takes) during their sleep:...

A PATH TO ALLĀH’S PLEASURE

FAJR REMINDER: A PATH TO ALLĀH’S PLEASURE By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 3, 1448 (16-August-2026) The scholars have pointed out that the Pleasure of Allāh is connected to the pleasure of one's parents, just as the Anger of Allāh is connected to their anger. Therefore, the one who leaves this world while his parent is angry with him has placed himself in a grave danger and exposed himself to the Anger of Allāh. Allāh (ﷻ) says: “And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents.” [Sūrah Al-Isrā' (17): 23-24] This demonstrates the tremendous status of dutifulness to parents. Al-‘Iḥsān—the highest level of goodness—is not merely encouraged; it is a necessary obligation. Allāh has mentioned dutifulness to parents alongside worshipping Him alone, highlighting their great virtue and the seriousness of their rights. Therefore, the two are inseparable. You cannot attain complete dutifulness to Allāh while neglecting the rights of your pa...

STRENGTH IN SILENCE

FAJR REMINDER: STRENGTH IN SILENCE By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 2, 1448 (15-August-2026) The gentle, soft-spoken, and quiet one—that was Ruqayyah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha), the second daughter of the Prophet (ﷺ), and the daughter of our great mother, Khadījah Bint Khuwaylid (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha). Before Islām, Ruqayyah was engaged to ‘Utbah, the son of Abū Lahab, the well-known disbelieving uncle of the Prophet (ﷺ). Abū Lahab became accursed by Allāh in Sūrah Al-Masadd after he opposed and cursed the Prophet (ﷺ), and Allāh (ﷻ) responded on behalf of His Messenger saying: “Perish the two hands of Abū Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he!” [Sūrah Al-Masadd (111): 1] Being related to the Prophet (ﷺ) was of no benefit to individuals such as Abū Lahab and Abū Ṭālib, his uncles, because they died upon disbelief. Indeed, Abū Lahab continues to be accursed. Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymīn (Raḥimahullāh) mentioned that among the uncles of the Prophet (ﷺ) was Abū Lahab, who opposed and fought agains...

DUA OR SUPPLICATION AFTER ABLUTION

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaumul Ahad | 3rd day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Sunday, 16th August, 2026. *_DUA OR SUPPLICATION AFTER ABLUTION_*. BismilLah.  Assalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh, brothers and sisters in Islam. Jazaakumullaahu Khairan for your duʿāʾ and support for my journey yesterday. Alhamdulillah, the journey was successful. It is important that we occasionally remind ourselves of the true meanings of what we say during, and even before, Ṣalaah. In shaaALLAH, we will begin a series today focusing on the meanings and lessons behind these beautiful words, starting with the dua after ablution (wudhu). The duaa after ablution is short, but it carries a profound message about Tawheed, Repentance, Purification, and Entering ALLAH’S MERCY. The Prophet (S.A.W) taught us to say after wudhu: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ. اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي...

TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum As-sabt | 2nd day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Saturday, 15th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SŪRAH AN-NAAZI'AAT (Qur'an 79) continues_*. BismilLah Let's conclude our study of Surah An-Naazi'aat. Before we do so, please remember me and my family in your prayers as we embark on a long-distance driving journey for our holidays. May ALLAH Azzawajal protect us, grant us a safe journey, and return us home safely. Also, please allow me a little more time to respond to your questions. Verse 45 إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَاهَا "You are only a warner for whoever fears it." The Prophet ﷺ was sent to warn people and guide them. But the warning benefits those whose hearts possess khashyah—reverence and fear of ALLAH AZZAWAJAL. This connects beautifully with verses 40–41. Earlier ALLAH Azzawajal praised the person who: "feared standing before his Lord and restrained himself from his desires." Now ALLAH Azzawajal says that the warn...

UNDERSTANDING ṬUMA'NĪNAH IN PRAYER

FAJR REMINDER: UNDERSTANDING ṬUMA'NĪNAH IN PRAYER By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 1, 1448 (14-August-2026) The Prophet (ﷺ) once instructed a man to repeat his entire prayer—not because he had abandoned the prayer altogether, but because he had performed it too hastily. Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated: “Once the Prophet (ﷺ) entered the mosque, a man came in, offered the prayer and greeted the Prophet. The Prophet returned his greeting and said to him, “Go back and pray again for you have not prayed.” The man offered the prayer again, came back and greeted the Prophet. He said to him thrice, “Go back and pray again for you have not prayed.” The man said, “By Him Who has sent you with the truth! I do not know a better way of praying. Kindly teach Me how to pray.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 793]” This Ḥadīth contains a profound lesson about the importance of Ṭuma'nīnah in Ṣalāh. Most Muslims know that standing, bowing, and prostrating are essential parts of the prayer. However, ...

BismilLah Let's continue with our studies of suurah An-Naazi'aat from the final verses 42-46 which speaks about "The Reality of the Day of Judgment and How Short This Life Is". Verse 43 فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَاهَا "How are you to mention it?" ALLAH Azzawajal makes it clear that the exact knowledge of the Hour does not belong to the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam.  His responsibility is to warn and remind, not to give a date that ALLAH Azzawajal has kept hidden. ALLAH Azzawajal says: "Indeed, ALLAH Azzawajal alone has knowledge of the Hour..." (Qur'an 31:34). Verse 44 إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَاهَا "To your Lord is its final knowledge." Only ALLAH Azzawajal knows exactly when the Hour will occur. The knowledge of its precise timing belongs exclusively to ALLAH Azzawa...

This is for You*

*This is for You* ----------------- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم We live as if this world, with its few moments 70-130years, is our permanent address. But Allah (SWT) reminds us in the Quran: "And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter is the true life, if only they knew." 📚(Quran 29:64) What if we truly knew? What if we could grasp the sheer scale of what awaits us? My People, We plan for retirement, perhaps 20 or 30 years. We think about our children's future, maybe 70 years ahead. But have we ever planned for a residence that will last thousands of decades? Consider this: The period between our death and the Day of Judgment is not a brief nap. It is a long, long life in a realm called the Barzakh (the Barrier). Scholars have indicated based on hadith that this period is immensely long. Think of it not in years, but in millennia. *This is the core of the matter:* Every single action we perform is not just a line in a ledg...
