Days in DhulHijah
[[-5th Outing-]]------------------
بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم
A huge golden chance is almost here. The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah start very soon. This is one of the biggest opportunities of the whole year.
Why are these days so special?
Allah (swt) speaks about them in the Quran. And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said they are the best days for good deeds. These ten days are like a gift wrapped in huge rewards.
Think about Ramadan. Maybe you feel you didn't do your best. Don't cry over that now. Allah is so merciful that He gives you these ten days as a second chance. Grab it with both hands.
My People,
Doing wrong in these days is much worse than other months. Guard your tongue. Guard your hands.
Now,
A special rule for those sacrificing an animal (Ud'hiyah):
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When the month of Dhul-Hijjah begins, and one of you intends to make a sacrifice, then let him or her not take anything from the hair of his body, or his nails until he has sacrificed." 📚(Muslim)
So from Maghrib on the night before the 1st of Dhul-Hijjah, if you plan to offer a sacrifice, do not cut any hair or clip any nails until after you have sacrificed.
But what if you forget?
If you forget and cut your hair or nails, you are not sinful. If you comb your hair and some falls out, or a broken nail comes off – you are excused. Only if you deliberately cut or clip, then you have disobeyed the Messenger (peace be upon him), but your sacrifice is still valid.
And what about the butcher?
The person who carries out the sacrifice for you (like the butcher) can still cut his hair and nails. He is not offering the sacrifice himself – he is only helping you.
Now,
The most important part – Giving Sadaqah every day
It has been two months since Ramadan. You might have missed Laylatul-Qadr. But did you know? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that good deeds in these ten days are more loved by Allah than any other days.
Give sadaqah every day from today until the end of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
Why?
So that people who have no father and no husband – orphans and widows – can smile too.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah will help a servant as long as the servant helps his fellow Muslim.”
When you put a smile on an orphan’s face or help a widow, Allah (swt) sends you help in return. That help may come as good health, safety from trouble, peace in your home, or even a longer life.
One last reminder:
These ten days will come and go – just like your own days of life are passing. Yes. Don't watch them fly away empty-handed.
Start now. Give sadaqah today. Then tomorrow. Then every day until Eid.
Make the fatherless and the husbandless smile.
You will never regret it.
To be continued..
