TAFSEER OF SUURAH AL-INSHIQĀQ (Qur’an 84)

Let's continue with our studies of suurah Al-Inshiqāq. Please refer to yesterday's reminder to understand today's reminder properly. 

Verses 20–25: Reaction of Disbelievers

20. فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ

So what is wrong with them that they do not believe?

Commentary: A rhetorical question highlighting stubborn denial.

21. وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ

And when the Qur’an is recited, they do not prostrate.

Commentary: Lack of humility and submission.

22. بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ

Meaning: Rather, the disbelievers deny. Commentary: Their rejection is deliberate.

23. وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ

Meaning: But ALLAH Azzawajal knows what they conceal

Commentary: Hidden thoughts and intentions are known to ALLAH Azzawajal.

24. فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

Meaning: So give them tidings of a painful punishment

Commentary: “Good news” used sarcastically—warning of punishment.

25. إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ

Meaning: Except those who believe and do good—they will have an unending reward.

Commentary: Eternal reward without interruption. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH. May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.
