THE DEVIL’S DECEPTION (TALBIS IBLIS)* (Episode 7)

Muslims Till Death:
AS SALAAMU ALAYKUM WARAHMATULLAH WABARAKAATUHU . LET'S START TONIGHT'S EDUCATION. OUR TOPIC IS 👇.                                                                            *THE  DEVIL’S DECEPTION (TALBIS IBLIS)* (Episode 7)

▫️ *About praying only in Masjid and reciting Qur'an*
➖➖➖

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: _*"The best prayer a person can perform is at his home, except for obligatory prayer."*_
[Bukhari 731 and Muslim 781]

Iblis deceived some people to pray all prayers (including voluntary prayers) only in the masjids. Sometimes they became known for this, and people gathered to pray behind them. This is a deception from Iblis. How can one prefer the best for the less good ? And this is not part of the habits of our pious predecessors.

Amir Ibn 'Abd Qays (رضي الله عنه) used to dislike to be seen praying, and used to never pray voluntary prayers in the masjid. And when someone used to enter upon Ibn AbI Layla while praying in the masjid, he used to lie down (i.e. pretend to be resting).
_

Ibn Al-Jawzi  (رحمه الله) mentioned the case of people crying with those around. He said about it : _"This might happen involuntarily, however, it would be considered showing off if a person was able to hide his crying but did not."_

Regarding Qur'an Recitation, Iblis deceived some people to read too fast without proper recitation. This is not praiseworthy. In fact Allaah ﷻ says in the Glorious Qur'an :

*وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا*

*And recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.*
[Al-Muzzamil 73:5]

Some recite Qur'an at night in the masjids and do it loudly. They harm people by not letting them sleep well and they showoff.

Others choose to recite while the adhan is being called because this is the time when people gather at the masjid.

Yã Akhy wa Yã Oukhty! Let us make sure to purify our intentions in evey act of worship and let us realize that with each act of worship, Iblis is there to mislead us.

*May Allaah make the practice of our Deen easy for us and preserve us from ostentation.*.

▫️ *Regarding fasting*
➖➖➖

Iblis deceived some people of our community to fast continuously. Ibn Al-Jawzi (رحمه الله) mentioned two problems with doing so:

- The first one is that this will cause him to become too weak to gain sustenance for his family, and to suffice his wife sexually.

Allaah's Messenger (ﷺ)  said: _*"Your wife has rights upon you."*_ [Sahih al-Bukhari 5199].

So how many obligations were let unfulfilled for the sake of performing this voluntary act ?

- The other problem is that they miss out on what is more virtuous. Abdullah ibn `Amr (رضي الله عنه) narrated :

_*Allaah's Messenger met me once and said: "Have I not been informed that you pray all night ? And that you say: I will pray all night and fast during the day?" 'Abdullah replied: "Yes, Ô Allaah's Messenger! I have said so." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Fast and break your fast. , offer prayers a bit, and also sleep at night.

And it is sufficient for you to fast three days in a month, as the reward of a good deed is multiplied ten times, so it will be like fasting throughout the year." I said: "O Allaah's Messenger! I have the strength to do more than that." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Then, fast like the fasting of Prophet Dawud (عليه الصلاة والسلام) and do not fast more than that." I replied: I have the power to do better than that. Allaah's Messenger (ﷺ) replied: "Nothing is better than that."*_
[Sahih al-BukharI 1976 and Muslim 1159].

The prophet Dawud (عليه الصلاة والسلام) used to fast one day and not fast the next day.
___

Devil's Deception regarding the Intention to Fast

- A person might become known for fasting everyday so he makes it a point to continue this habit. Even if he doesn't fast for one day, he hides this from people so his fame does not get affected.
- ___*PAGE 9*___.
- ✍️...

Regarding this, Ibn Al-Jawzi (رحمه الله) said : _"This is a form of hidden riyã (showing off) . Had his intention been sincere he would have hidden his fasting."_
*[Talbis Iblis p.247]*

- Some of them openly say that they have been fasting for years. Iblis convinces them that this is useful so others follow his example. But only Allaah knows all intentions.
- ___*PAGE 10*___.
- ✍️...

Sufyan al-Thawri (رضي الله عنه) said: _"A person continues to do a good deed in secret until the devil convinces him to talk about it openly. So his deed is transferred from the record of the secretive actions to that of open actions."_
*[Talbis Iblis p.248]*

- Some of them fast every Monday and Thursday, and whenever he is invited to a meal he says: "Today is Thursday!" Had he said: "I am fasting today" it would have been acceptable. But saying "Today is Thursday" means that he fasts every Thursday!.
- ___*PAGE 11*___.
- ✍️...
-
-    - Others look down at people because they are not fasting while he is.

- And others fast but do not take care of what they eat for breakfast. They do not avoid backbiting or bad talk, and do not lower their gaze. Iblis convinced him that his fasting is enough to repel these sins. This is a very big deception from Iblis.
_
*May Allaah prevent us from devil deceptions and from deeds and intentions that will nullify our acts of ibãdãt.*.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE EXPIATION

FAJR REMINDER: THE EXPIATION! By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Qa'dah 3, 1447 (21-April-2026) Do you know how to live a good life and die upon goodness? I mean the deeds of expiation that help a person meet Allāh free from sins, as pure as the day they were born. Some people may imagine that this is achieved by repeating Astaghfirullāh a million times, praying hundreds of Rak‘āt without even facing the Qiblah, or locking themselves in a dark room for a year while engaging in invented forms of Dhikr. No—this is not the way. Rather, the path is what the Prophet (ﷺ) taught. Ibn Abbās (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhuma) said Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “My Lord came to me tonight in the most beautiful form (I think he said, in a dream). He (Allāh) said, ‘O Muḥammad, do you know what the chiefs on high (the Angels) disputed about?’ I said, ‘No.’ He put His Hand between my shoulder-blades and I could feel its coolness on my chest (or just beneath my throat), then I knew everything that is in the heavens and on e...
