UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT WE SAY IN OUR SALAAT CONTINUES

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum al-ithnayn | 18th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Monday, 31st August, 2026. *_UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT WE SAY IN OUR SALAAT CONTINUES_*. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our understanding of what we say during salaat. As we rise from rukūʿ, we say: سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ Samiʿallāhu liman ḥamidah Meaning: “ALLAH hears the one who praises HIM.” This isn't merely telling us that ALLAH Azzawajal physically hears our voice. ALLAH'S hearing is perfect. HE hears every servant, every prayer and every praise, regardless of how quietly it is spoken. It also carries the meaning that ALLAH responds to and gives attention to the praise of HIS servant. Once we are standing upright, we say: رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ Rabbana wa lakal-ḥamd Meaning: “Our Lord, and to You belongs all praise.” There is something profound about the sequence. In rukūʿ we say: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيمِ “Glory is to my Lord, the Magnificent.” We acknowledge ALLAH'S gr...

FIR’AUN’S PLAN, ALLĀH’S DECREE

FAJR REMINDER: FIR’AUN’S PLAN, ALLĀH’S DECREE By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 18, 1448 (31-August-2026) It is mentioned that when Fir’aun had killed so many of the male children of Banī Israel, the Copts became concerned that the population of Banī Israel would eventually die out. They feared that, once the men were gone, they would be forced to take on the heavy labor that Banī Israel had been performing. So they said to Fir’aun, “If this continues, and their old men die and the young men are killed, their women will not be able to do the work that the men are doing, and we will end up having to do it.” As a result, Fir’aun ordered that the boys should be killed one year and spared the following year. Prophet Hārūn (‘Alayhi Salām) was born in a year when the boys were not being killed, while Prophet Mūsā (‘Alayhi Salām) was born during the year in which the boys were being killed. Fir’aun appointed midwives to carry out this terrible task. They would go around among the women, inspe...

Failed Evil Plots

Failed Evil Plots ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Imagine you have a shield. This shield is not made of metal. It is made of light and peace. It is a shield that protects you from every bad thing and evil creatures. This shield is the Tahajjud prayer. Tahajjud is the prayer you do in the night, when everyone is asleep. When the world is dark and quiet, you are awake, talking to the One who created you. And for engaging in Tahajjud prayer consistently without missing, Allah (swt) gives you a amazing prize. This prize is total protection. Protection from your enemies, from the evil eye, and from jealousy. Why is this shield so strong? Because Allah (swt) loves those who pray Tahajjud consistently without missing. Think about that. The King of all Kings, the Most Powerful, loves you. And when HE loves you, HE becomes your Guardian. When Allah protects you, no one can harm you. No one!. Yes. You will see the proof in your life: (1) The bad plans people make for you will fail...

A Gift For You [[- Episode 4 -]]

A Gift For You [[- Episode 4 -]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم You say you are busy. You cannot find time to read the Qur'an. Okay. But is listening also a problem? Does it take hard work to press 'play' and listen? No. It is the easiest thing in the world. Think about this simple action: You go to bed after Ishai prayer. You lay on your bed. Your phone is right there with you. You press 'play' on a Qur'an recitation. What you get doing this everyday is bigger than biggest. Every blessed night, let it play softly from that moment until the time for Fajr prayer. Do it every single night. Does this use all your phone's battery? No. It will not use even 30% of it. Except if your phone battery is completely bad. Now, do you know about the great blessings that come from doing this every night? While every human being is sleeping, your house is not silent. It is filled with the Words of Allah (swt). The angels are with you. This Qur'an is a light....

A Gift For You [[- Episode 3 -]]

A Gift For You [[- Episode 3 -]] ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Haven't you heard that the same devil or shaytan who tricked our grandfather (Prophet Adam) and he was sent out of the Jannah have not surrendered his weapon?.. The same shaytan is still the one tricking all the descendants of Prophet Adam (a.s.) to dislike every deeds that will earn them Allah s mercy. My People, In one time or the other, we have committed some sins in the past, the sins that if we remember, we become ashamed of ourselves, we become worried - as whether we will get Allah's mercy on the day of judgement or not. It is recommended to seek forgiveness a lot, and to repent sincerely every time the sin comes to one’s mind. If we practice this, then, we have no cause to worry about our past sins. Yes. This is why the prophet (PBUH) said: *“Everyone from my nation will enter Paradise but those who refuse.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, who will refuse?” The Prophet said, “Whoever obeys me ...

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Al-khamis | 14th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Thursday, 27th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SURATUL-FAATIHAH continues_*. BismilLah.  Let's continue with our studies of suuratul Faatihah.  Verse 7.  صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ “The path of those upon whom You have bestowed Your favour.” We are not asking for an imaginary path. We are asking ALLAH Azzawajal to place us upon the path of the people who received HIS favour.  غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ “Not the path of those who earned Your anger, nor of those who went astray.” The Qur’an later identifies those people as the: Prophets, truthful, martyrs, righteous. Ibn Kathir explains that Faatihah directs the believer towards the true religion and righteous deeds, leading ultimately to success in the Hereafter.  Don't merely ask: “What do I want to do with my life?” Ask: “What path would ALLAH Azzawajal be pleased for me to follow?” Our role mo...

A Gift For You

A Gift For You ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Imagine two gifts. One gift is wrapped in beautiful paper. The other is a simple key. The beautiful paper is nice to look at. But the key can open doors to unquantifiable treasure. Our children are a trust from Allah (swt). We love them. We want to give them everything. We work hard to give them nice clothes, good food, a safe home, and best western education. This is good. But this is the beautiful wrapping paper. The real treasure is their heart, their faith, correct islamic upbringing, the type of school they attended, and their connection to Allah. This is the key. *A Story of a Father’s Prayer (Du'a):* Think of Zayd, the father of Sa'id. Sa'id is one of the ten companions promised Paradise while on earth. His father, Zayd, wanted more than anything to meet the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). But he was killed before he could. With his last breath, he did not ask for anything for himself. He raised his eyes ...

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum Arba'a | 13th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Wednesday, 26th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SURATUL-FAATIHAH continues_*. BismilLah.    Let's continue with our studies of suuratul Faatihah.  Verse 6. اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ “Guide us to the Straight Path.” This is extraordinary. After praising ALLAH Azzawajal, recognising HIS Mercy, Remembering Judgement Day and declaring our worship, our first major request is guidance. Because without guidance, worldly blessings can actually become a means of destruction. You can have money and be misguided. You can have knowledge and be misguided. You can have power and be misguided. You can have fame and be misguided. Therefore, the believer asks ALLAH Azzawajal: “O ALLAH, keep me upon the path that pleases You.” We do not ask ALLAH Azzawajal for guidance only once. We ask for it at least seventeen (17) times a day in the obligatory prayers. Why? Because guidance is not something we obtai...

THE HONOUR OF DAUGHTERS IN ISLĀM

FAJR REMINDER: THE HONOUR OF DAUGHTERS IN ISLĀM By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 12, 1448 (25-August-2026) It is an age-old practice among some parents to favour their sons over their daughters. But what does Islām say about such treatment? Islām teaches parents not to treat their children unfairly simply because of their gender. It strongly condemns attitudes that devalue daughters and commands parents to deal justly with all their children. Before the advent of Islām, brought by Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ), some Arabs regarded the birth of a daughter as a disgrace. Allāh (ﷻ) condemned this evil attitude, saying: “And when the news of (the birth of) a female (child) is brought to any of them, his face becomes dark, and he is filled with inward grief! He hides himself from the people because of the evil of that whereof he has been informed. Shall he keep her with dishonour or bury her in the earth? Certainly, evil is their decision.” [Sūrah An-Naḥl (16): 58-59] Islām came and completely reje...

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum athalaatha | 12th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Tuesday, 25th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SURATUL-FAATIHAH continues_*. BismilLahir Rahmanir Raheem.   Let's continue with our studies of suuratul Faatihah.  Verse 4 مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ “Master/Owner of the Day of Judgement.” Now the suurah moves from ALLAH'S MERCY to the Day of Judgement. Why? Because a balanced Muslim must remember both: ALLAH'S MERCY  and ALLAH'S accountability. The Day of Judgement is the day when every human being will stand before ALLAH Azzawajal. No wealth will save someone merely because he was wealthy. No social status will save someone merely because he was powerful. مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ Allah is the Master of the Day of Judgement. A person may escape worldly justice, but nobody escapes ALLAH'S ultimate judgement. Verse 5. إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.” This is arguably the central verse...

TAFSEER OF SURATUL-FAATIHAH

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER  Monday, 24th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SURATUL-FAATIHAH_*. BismilLah.    Let's continue with our studies of suuratul Faatihah.  بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيم “In the Name of ALLAH, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.” Before beginning the Faatihah, we begin by mentioning ALLAH'S name. This teaches us that a believer should begin his actions with ALLAH Azzawajal, seeking HIS help, blessing and acceptance. Before you begin your work, your journey, your business, your studies, your family responsibilities, your acts of worship, remember ALLAH Azzawajal. But saying Bismillah should not become merely a habit of the tongue. We should understand what we are saying: “I am beginning this in the name of ALLAH Azzawajal.” Therefore, I should not deliberately use ALLAH'S name to begin something sinful.  الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ “All praise belongs to ALLAH, Lord of all the worlds.” This is one of the most powerful...

In Just 5minutes

In Just 5minutes ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم My dear brother and sister, Imagine you wake up in the middle of the night. Just for a few minutes. You pray only two rakaats of Tahajjud. In every rakaat, after Suratul Fatiha, you recite Suratul Ikhlas three times. Do you know what you just earned? You just grabbed the reward of finishing the complete Quran… twice. Yes. Two full recitations of the entire Quran. In two short rakaats. At midnight. How is that possible? Listen to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). A man once heard someone reciting “Qul hu-wallaahu ‘Ahad” over and over. The man thought, “That’s too small. That’s not enough.” But the Prophet said: “By the one in whose hand is my soul, reciting it once is equal to one-third of the Quran.” 📚(Sahih al-Bukhari 4726) Still not shocked? Listen to this story. The Prophet Muhammad once told his companions: “Gather around. I will recite to you one-third of the Quran.” Everyone rushed, excited to hear so much. ...

The Sick Grandpa

The Sick Grandpa ----------------- بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Imagine this. Every night, when you wake up for midnight prayer (Tahajjud), the angels in heaven see you. They know your name. They see your huge effort to defeating your desires for sleeping. The effort many Muslims have swept inside carpet. Now, imagine one night you cannot wake up for Tahajjud. Maybe you are very very sick. Or you are on a long journey. It is a real excuse. That night, the angels will look for you. They will notice you are missing. One of the angels will say, "Where is our friend today?" And then, all the angels will say together: "Write his/her name in the attendance register! Mark him/her as present!" Yes. They will write your name as if you were there, praying. Why? Because Allah is the Most Kind. And you have made Tahajjud a habit. This is why, The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: *"If a person falls ill or travels, he shall be credited with whatever good deeds he used to perform...

THE PERMANENT MAḤĀRIM THROUGH BLOOD RELATIONSHIP

FAJR REMINDER: THE PERMANENT MAḤĀRIM THROUGH BLOOD RELATIONSHIP By: Umm Affān Rabī' Al-Awwal 10, 1448 (23-August-2026) In Islām, who are a woman's permanent Maḥārim (the plural of Maḥram)? And what does this relationship mean for matters of Ḥijāb, privacy, and travel? A Maḥram is a man whom a woman is permanently forbidden to marry due to a relationship of blood (lineage), breastfeeding, or marriage. Understanding who her Maḥārim are helps a Muslim woman recognise the boundaries Allāh has established concerning modesty and family relationships. Let us examine them one after another, beginning with the Maḥārim established through blood relationship. (1) HER FATHER AND GRANDFATHERS A woman's father is her permanent Maḥram. This also includes her grandfathers—her father's father, her mother's father, and all grandfathers above them. Allāh (ﷻ) tells the men: “Forbidden to you (for marriage) are: your mothers...” [Sūrah An-Nisā' (4): 23] When this ruling is applied ...

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum As-sabt | 9th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Saturday, 22nd August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SURATUL-FAATIHAH_*. BismilLah.  We recite this suurah in every single salaat but do we really understand the spiritual Meanings of the verses? Let's begin to understand this most important act in our salaat. Suratul-Faatihah (سُورَةُ الْفَاتِحَةِ) is the opening chapter of the Qur’an and one of the greatest suurahs in Islam. It contains only seven verses, yet it summarizes the central message of the entire Qur’an: who ALLAH Azzawajal is, how we should worship HIM, our relationship with HIM, the Hereafter, and our constant need for HIS Guidance. Sheikh Ibn Kathir may ALLAH Azzawajal be pleased with him highlights these themes in his commentary on the suurah.  The Prophet ﷺ also described it as Umm al-Qur’an (Mother of the Qur’an) and the seven oft-repeated verses. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was calling people away from shirk (associating partners with ALLAH...
