*👉 Eyes on the forefinger (Another reason to have the finger raised through out the Tashashud, from beginning to the end)*

*👉  Bending the finger slightly when pointing* was mentioned in the hadeeth of Numayr al-Khuzaa’i, in Abu Dawood, 991, and al-Nasaa’i, 1274.
But this is a *da'eef* (weak) hadeeth.
See Tamaam al-Minnah by shk al-Albaani p. 222.

We can remind ourselves from the provided Hadiths that, *Making the figure of 53 in Tashahhud : if you make a circle with your thumb and forefinger, it is like the arabic numeral 5 and the three clasped fingers are 3; thus like 53.... _Sahih muslim 580 b_*
*👆Two different styles are reported in sahih muslim in back to back ahadeeth.*
*👉 Use the first style in first short Tashahhud and the 2nd style in the longer Tashahhud, so both sunnahs are covered.

*Let's continue on these Hadiths*👇.                                     Abdullah b. Zubair  رضى الله عنه  narrated on the authority of his father: _When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sat in prayer. he placed the left foot between his thigh and shank and stretched the right foot and placed his left hand on his left knee and placed his right hand on his right thigh, and raised his finger._

Imaam Ahmad (رحمه الله) reported that when _‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar [ رضى الله عنه] sat in prayer [i.e. in the position of Tashahhud] he would put his hands on his knees and he would point with his (index) finger and he would look at it [finger] and then he said: "The Prophet(ﷺ) said: “It (meaning the index finger) is more powerful against the devil than iron.” because he is not harmed by iron like he is harmed by the Oneness of Allah, therefore, this pointing is harder for the devil than the sword and the arrow because of the Oneness [of Allah] that it refers to._ (Musnad Ahmad)

Mujaahid [ رضى الله عنه ] said about this pointing: _‘It is a hooked rod (of iron) i.e. a humiliation and torture for the devil.'_

Abdullah b. Zubair narrated on the authority of his father: _When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sat in prayer. he placed the left foot between his thigh and shank and stretched the right foot and placed his left hand on his left knee and placed his right hand on his right thigh, and raised his finger._

The first hadeeth is the PROOF that at some point in Tashahhud the index finger needs to be raised but it doesn't specify at what moment and for how long. It also doesn't specify when to raise and when to drop. Pointing with the forefinger is an indication of affirmation of oneness of Allah, Tawheed and sincerity. The first Hadith also remind us of the need to place our respective hands on its respective legs. Pointing the index finger during tashahudu is powerful tool against shaytaan and iron.

This, indeed, makes the devil give up hope in the praying person to commit shirk [associate partners to Allaah] and disbelief. So we should continue on pointing the index finger during swalat. All 4 imams differed on this issue of raising the finger and moving it at different times. No evidence can be found for their opinions. Pointing the finger from start to finish is considered more closer to the sunnah from the above hadeeth.

*Let's continue on these Hadiths*👇.                                            Volume 1, Book 8, Number 392:

Narrated Bara' bin 'Azib:

Allah's Apostle prayed facing Baitul-Maqdis for sixteen or seventeen months but he loved to face the Ka'ba (at Mecca) so Allah revealed: "Verily, We have seen the turning of your face to the heaven!" (2:144) So the Prophet faced the Ka'ba and the fools amongst the people namely "the Jews" said, "What has turned them from their Qibla (Bait-ul-Maqdis) which they formerly observed"" (Allah revealed): "Say: 'To Allah belongs the East and the West. He guides whom he will to a straight path'." (2:142) A man prayed with the Prophet (facing the Ka'ba) and went out. He saw some of the Ansar praying the 'Asr prayer with their faces towards Bait-ul-Maqdis, he said, "I bear witness that I prayed with Allah's Apostle facing the Ka'ba."

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar:

While the people were offering the Fajr prayer at Quba (near Medina), someone came to them and said: "It has been revealed to Allah's Apostle tonight, and he has been ordered to pray facing the Ka'ba." So turn your faces to the Ka'ba. Those people were facing Sham (Jerusalem) so they turned their faces towards Ka'ba (at Mecca).

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
