TAFSEER OF SURATUL-FAATIHAH continues

Yaum Arba'a | 13th day of Rabee-ul Awwal, 1448 AH | Wednesday, 26th August, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SURATUL-FAATIHAH continues_*. BismilLah. 

 

Let's continue with our studies of suuratul Faatihah. 


Verse 6.

اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ

“Guide us to the Straight Path.”

This is extraordinary. After praising ALLAH Azzawajal, recognising HIS Mercy, Remembering Judgement Day and declaring our worship, our first major request is guidance.

Because without guidance, worldly blessings can actually become a means of destruction. You can have money and be misguided. You can have knowledge and be misguided.

You can have power and be misguided. You can have fame and be misguided. Therefore, the believer asks ALLAH Azzawajal:

“O ALLAH, keep me upon the path that pleases You.”


We do not ask ALLAH Azzawajal for guidance only once. We ask for it at least seventeen (17) times a day in the obligatory prayers. Why?

Because guidance is not something we obtain once and then permanently possess without effort. We constantly need ALLAH Azzawajal to: guide us, strengthen us, protect us, correct us, keep us steadfast etc. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH. *_May ALLAH Azzawajal keep guiding and protecting us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.

 *BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
