FAJR REMINDER: …IN HIS LEFT HAND

Dhū al-Qa'dah 23, 1447 (11-May-2026)
According to Allāh’s Decree, the one destined for Hell will receive his Record in his left hand from behind his back while his hand is bent backwards. Allāh says: “But whoever is given his record behind his back, He will invoke (for his) destruction, And he shall enter a blazing fire, and made to taste its burning.” [Sūrah Al-Inshiqāq (84): 10-12]
In the worldly life, the disbeliever lived joyfully among his people, heedless of the consequences of his disbelief and evil deeds. He never feared the terrible future awaiting him nor reflected on what lay ahead. However, that temporary happiness will eventually turn into endless sorrow and regret. When he is handed his Record, overwhelming remorse will consume him. He will long for a death that is never followed by resurrection or life again, even though death had once been the thing he hated most in the world.
Allāh says: “But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: ‘I wish that I had not been given my Record! And that I had never known, how my Account is! I wish, would that it had been my end (death)! My wealth has not availed me; My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me! (It will be said): ‘Seize him and fetter him; Then throw him in the blazing fire. Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!” [Sūrah Al-Ḥāqqah (69): 25-32]
The wealth, status, and honour people boast about in this world will be of no benefit on that Day. None of these things will protect them from Allāh’s Punishment. It is mentioned that Ibn ‘Abbās (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhuma) and Ibn Jurayj (Raḥimahullāh) both said: “Each cubit will be the forearm’s length of an angel.” [Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr 69:32] Subḥānallāh! And the chain is seventy cubits long.
A humiliating punishment awaits the people of Hell. The angels appointed over Hell will be commanded to drag them away from the place of gathering, shackle them with iron collars around their necks, and cast them into the Fire. Hell is not something to joke about or take lightly.
I beseech Allāh to save us from it. Aameen.
