*Enter my Shade*
------------------بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم
A day is coming when we will stand on bare feet. We will wait for judgment, but it will not come quickly. Hours? Days? Years? Time is lost. People will scream. Some will cry to Allah: "Even if it is Hellfire, take us there now! We cannot bear this standing!"
This is the Day of Judgment. There will be terrible heat of the sun.
But then, a call will come. The voice of Allah (swt), full of mercy. HE will call some people: “Come, enter My Shade.”
Who are these people?
The Prophet (pbuh) told us. One of them is: "A person who gives charity in secret, so much that his right hand does not know what his left hand gave."📚Sahih al-Bukhari 660, Sahih Muslim 1031.
On that Day, your charity will become your only shade. But there is a condition.
Yes!
Allah (swt) does not love what you do once. He loves what you do again and again and again. And to be under His Shade, you must make charity your habit. Every single day (except if you don't sincerely have anything to give).
My People,
If giving sadaqah everyday is not necessary in the life of a believer on daily basis, Angels would not be made to descend every blessed morning and evening to make Du'a for whoever gives sadaqah. 📚Sahih al-Bukhari 1442, Sahih Muslim 1010.
Remember,
The only person who is exempted from giving is the one who has nothing to give.
Yes!
It's not written anywhere that before we give sadaqah, we should wait until we become a millionaire or until we have excess money in our pockets or bank account or until we have some money our family did not desperately need. This is true because of the hadith Narrated By Ibn Abbas :
"I am a witness that the prophet (pbuh) offered the Id prayer before delivering the sermon and then he thought that the women would not be able to hear him (because of the distance), so he went to them along with Bilal who was spreading his garment. The Prophet advised and ordered them to give in charity. So the women started giving their ornaments - necklaces and ear-rings - (in charity)". 📚Sahih Bukhari Volume 2, Book 24, Hadith Number 529.
From this hadith, the prophet Muhammad would have asked the women to keep their necklaces and ear-rings to themselves since they don't have money to give as sadaqah.
Shaytan will makes you see only your empty pocket. He promises you that holding your money will make you safe. But he is stealing your only shade.
My People,
This Eidil-adha, an orphan child is watching others buy new clothes while he has nothing. A widow is sitting alone, unable to buy even a small piece of meat for her children. You can change that. Yes. Remember, Allah (swt) helps those who bring joy to orphans. When you wipe away their tears and make them smile, Allah (swt) sends His help back to you. That help may not necessarily be more money. It might be good health for yourself or someone you love, safety from a danger you don't see, or answering your Du'a etc etc... Your donation is not a loss. It is a direct request to Allah for His mercy.
Living outside Nigeria?
Different road leads to the market and so even those living outside Nigeria can also do something to putting a real smile on an orphan’s face and peace in a widow’s heart this Idul-Adha. Yes. That smile will open doors of mercy from Allah (swt) to Nigerians and every non-Nigerians who knocked on the doors of technology to make it happen.
No amount is too small or too big. The only difference is the reward.
