Open Ur Eyes Please
------------------بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم
You know the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are special. Very special. Good deeds done now are more beloved to Allah (swt) than any other days of the year. So you pray more. You say “SubhanAllah” and “Alhamdulillah” more. You fast. This is Good.
But wait.
Stop.
Are you only doing good deeds that benefit only yourself?
Think deeply.
There are two kinds of good deeds.
(1) The First Kind: Benefits only you. Like your prayer (swalah). Like remembering Allah (dhikr). Like fasting.
(2) The Second Kind: Benefits others. Like giving charity (sadaqah). Like paying zakaat. Like teaching, spreading or contributing to spreading the message of Allah (swt) and HIS Rasool (pbuh). Like feeding a hungry person. Like helping your neighbor, etc...
Here is the mind-blowing truth:
A true servant of Allah does BOTH.
Yes!
But many Muslims only run after the first kind. They pray, they make dhikr, they fast… but their Muslim brother is dead living orphans crying of hunger, and they don’t care. Their Muslim sister is crying, and they don’t notice. Their community is lost without guidance or contributing to guiding them to the path of Allah (swt).
My People,
Listen to Allah’s own words.
Allah (swt) does not say righteousness is just about establishing swalah only. No!
Allah (swt) says:
“Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but true righteousness is in one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets… AND gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask for help…” 📚(Qur’an 2:177)
Do you see it?
Faith AND giving.
Belief AND helping.
Your prayer AND welfare of your fellow Muslims.
Honestly,
If you only worship for yourself, your worship is half. It is missing something huge.
Now,
What will you do in these ten days?
Yes, pray more. Yes, say “La ilaha illa Allah” more. But also:
(1) Give money, even a little.
(2) Feed someone iftar or any meal.
(3) Call your relative and help or fix a broken relationship.
(4) Teach Muslims or contribute to teaching Muslims about their deen.
(5) Help someone who is struggling in one way or the other.
This is how you become a real COMPLETE servant of Allah. Not just a Muslim who falls in the first category of servant of Allah.
Do not let these ten days end while you only helped yourself. Be the one who gives. Be the one who serves. Be the one Allah calls: “Righteous.”
Go now. Combine the two.
