YAUM ARBIYA!10th dhul_Hijja,1447Wednesday 27th May ,2026
Bismillah
Eid ul Adha – “Festival of Sacrifice”* is on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah. It’s built around worship, sacrifice, and sharing. Here’s what Muslims typically do on the day itself:
*1. Morning prep – Sunnah acts before Eid prayer*
- *Take ghusl* – a full bath/shower. c3bc
- *Wear your best clothes + apply perfume/attar* – men do this, women wear decent non-flashy clothes.
- *Don’t eat before the prayer* – unlike Eid al-Fitr, on Eid al-Adha it’s sunnah to delay eating until after the prayer, ideally from your Qurbani meat.
- *Recite Takbir* on the way to prayer: _“Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahil hamd”_. 2527
- *Walk to the prayer place if you can*, and return by a different route – it’s sunnah.
*2. Eid Salah + Khutbah*
- Offer the *Eid prayer in congregation* – 2 rak’ahs followed by a sermon.
- Avoid extra nafl prayers before/after at the prayer ground. c3bc
*3. Qurbani – The sacrifice*
- If you’re financially able, *sacrifice an animal* – sheep, goat, cow, or camel – after the prayer. 47b4
- Divide the meat into 3 parts: one for your family, one for relatives/friends, one for the poor/needy.
- If you’re doing Qurbani, avoid cutting hair/nails from the 1st of Dhul Hijjah until after you sacrifice.
*4. Spending the rest of the day*
- *Greet others* with “Eid Mubarak” or the sunnah greeting _“Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum”_ – May Allah accept from us and from you.
- *Connect with family/friends, exchange gifts
- *Give charity generously* – Eid is about sharing with those in need
- *Eat together* – now you break the fast of the morning and enjoy meals with loved ones.
May Allah unite us all upon the truth.Aamin
Eid Mubarak in Advance
