A DOUBLE BLESSING

 FAJR REMINDER: A DOUBLE BLESSING!

By: Umm Affān

Ramaḍān 17, 1447 (6-March-2026)

We express our sincere gratitude to Allāh for allowing us to witness another Yawm ul-Jumu’ah (Friday) during this year’s Ramaḍān.

Friday is undoubtedly the most virtuous of our days, and experiencing it in Ramaḍān is a double blessing. What about those who overlook this significant opportunity? ‘Umar Ibn al-Khaṭṭāb reported that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said, “Whoever hears the announcement of Friday prayer and he does not come, then he hears it again and does not come, then he hears it again and does not come, Allāh will place a seal over his heart and turn his heart into the heart of a hypocrite.” [Shu’ab al-Īmān 2753]

In another narration, Ibn ‘Umar reported that the Prophet (ﷺ), while on his wooden pulpit, said: “People need to stop neglecting the Friday prayers, lest Allāh place a seal over their hearts and then they become heedless.” [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 865] Subḥānallāh! For those who neglect the Jumu’ah prayer, let Ramaḍān serve as your turning point.

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim (Raḥimahullāh) stated: “Friday prayer is one of the most important obligations in Islām, and one of the greatest gatherings of the Muslims. Gathering on Friday is more important and more obligatory than any other gathering apart from ‘Arafah. Whoever neglects it, Allāh will place a seal on his heart.” [Zād Al-Ma’ād | Book 3, Pg. 31-32]

Dear brothers and sisters, let us hasten to the Masjid for Jumu’ah prayer and dress in our finest attire (and women wishing to attend should wear the Sharī'ah-compliant Ḥijāb). Remember, Allāh says: “O Children of Ādam! We have bestowed Libās (raiment) upon you to cover yourselves with, and as Rish (adornment); and the Libās (raiment) of Taqwā (piety or righteousness), that is better.” [Sūrah Al-A’raf (7): 26]

Attending the Masjid early for Jumu’ah is crucial. Just as we strive to be on time for worldly engagements, we should also aim to be early in our meeting with our Lord during Ṣalāt. Time management is vital; we should prioritize and address what is most important and urgent. Our Ṣalāt (prayers) are of great significance, so let’s attend to them with diligence. Let our hearts remain attached to the Masjid, as it is one of the means that grants us the Shade of Allāh on the Day of Judgment, a day when no shade will exist except His.

Additionally, there is a moment today when supplications are surely answered. We should avoid wasting our time without engaging in righteous deeds since we will be held accountable for it. It disheartens me to see Muslims who, instead of making the most of this time to earn rewards, spend it on trivial activities like watching movies (including seasonal ones) or playing games for hours. What a waste!

Let us ensure that we perform all the Jumu’ah rites. We never know which moment could be our last, so we must treat this opportunity with care. I beseech Allāh to help us worship and obey Him fervently, to rectify our affairs, and to reward us abundantly. Aameen.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
