FAJR REMINDER: TIME TO REFLECT!
By: Umm Affān
Ramaḍān 29, 1447 (18-March-2026)
The blessed month of Ramaḍān is casting its shadow, it’ll soon leave. Fear grips the hearts of the true believers for the acceptance of their acts of worship therein and having the opportunity of witnessing another.
With sincerity, devoutness and determination we started the month - to be cleansed and free from our past sins. It tests our patience and fills our hearts with light and our minds with delight. Active nights, full of Qiyām and supplications; constant morning and evening Adhkār (remembrance of Allāh); unmissed forenoon prayer; better relationship with the Qur'ān; and various acts of worship. Time is spent eschewing vain talks, yet we’re fine for we instead engage in things more exciting which bring the promise of eternal glee. O Muslims! Let’s reflect on how much we’ve benefitted and how we’ll keep up after it’s gone? How do we continue the good after Ramaḍān?
Truly, the Shayāṭīn will be unchained again but with the fear of Allāh we can stay unchanged. ‘Abdullāh Ibn ‘Amr Ibn ‘Al-As (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhuma) said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me, O ‘Abdullāh! Do not be like so-and-so. He used to get up at night for optional prayers but abandoned it later.” [Ṣaḥiḥ al-Bukhārī 1152]
Seriously, nothing should stop of our Qiyām Al-Layl (Tahajjud); recitation of Qur'ān and its reflection; visitation to hospitals, prison yards and orphanage homes; and feeding the poor since they need us too in other months. We shouldn’t wait till another Ramaḍān. With Allāh’s Help, I believe we can keep up.
I beseech Allāh to accept all our acts of worship and make us meet Ramaḍān again. Aameen
