As Salamu alaikum my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, wallahi I've seen many masājid are prolonging their Qunoot Du'a and reciting it melodiously as they are reciting Quran.

Where do you get this?

It's innovation because that was not the teaching of prophet Muhammad sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam.

As for prolonging the qunoot du'a it doesn't have basic...

Because....

كان رسولُ الله ﷺ يستحبُّ الجوامعَ من الدعاءِ ويَدَعُ ما سوى

 ذلك.

Aisha bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) is:

“The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam)used to prefer جامع الدعاء (concise, comprehensive supplications), and he would leave anything other than that.”

What does al-Jawāmi mean?

It means.... He used to recite a few words but vast, and comprehensive meanings.....he used to do suplications that gather many forms of goodness in a short phrase.

So, please never make it as perfection to stay long while making the Du'as.

While reciting the qunoot melodiously is fabricated and doesn't have basics from Sunnah.

What you are required to do is to recite it with your normal voice like the way you make your daily du'a.

May Allah protect us from bid'a and the people of bid'a (innovation).

May Allah make us firmly upon the Sunnah of prophet Muhammad sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam.
