In his book History of the Caliphs, Jalaluddin Suyuti records on the authority of Ibn Asakir that Uthman was of medium stature, neither short, nor tall. He was of a comely aspect. His complexion was white with a yellowish tinge. _PAGE 2_ There were faint marks of small pox on his face, which instead of disfiguring the comeliness of his appearance, added to his beauty. He was full bearded, and the beard looked well on his face. The locks of the hair of his head fell below his ears. He was large of limbs, broad between the shoulders; fleshy in the thighs,; and long in the forearms. His teeth were most beaut

There is also some controversy about the exact age attained by Uthman. When he died in 656 C.E. some said that he was eighty-five, while others said that he was eighty. There were some persons who held that he was only sixty-three. _ PAGE 2 _ The Holy Prophet died at the age of sixty-three. Abu Bakr died at the same age. The age of Umar at the time of his martyrdom was also around sixty-three. The age of sixty-three thus acquired a particular sanctity among the Muslims, and this age was attributed by some persons to Uthman merely as a mark of sanctity. _ PAGE 3 _ The weight of av

HOW THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD sallallahu alaihi wasallam SUCCEEDED in DIFFICULT TIMES continues.

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Al-Khamis. 4th day of Rabeeu ath-thaani, 1445AH (Thusday, 19th October, 2023). HOW THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD sallallahu alaihi wasallam SUCCEEDED in DIFFICULT TIMES continues. BismilLah.  Let's continue from our topic yesterday. We read the Prophet’s story hundreds of years after it was over. It is a successful story that contains one victory after another with a very positive final outcome. This positive experience masked all the difficult times in his life and we tend to overlook them when reading or relating the story, especially in the absence of deep analysis. The fact of the matter is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went through a lot of challenges and difficult times throughout his whole life. In one year, his uncle and his wife, who both supported him emotionally and physically, died. In the very same year, he was subjected to physical abuse from the people of Makkah. Surah Ad-Duha Consoled the Prophet, It can Relieve You Too

HOW THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD sallallahu alaihi wasallam SUCCEEDED in DIFFICULT TIMES

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 3rd day of Rabeeu ath-thaani, 1445AH (Wednesday, 18th October, 2023). *HOW THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD sallallahu alaihi wasallam SUCCEEDED in DIFFICULT TIMES*. BismilLahir Rahmanir Raheem. Difficult times are part of ALLAH’s laws in this universe; they are part of the tests that people go through. They are not necessarily something evil, however. A difficulty we go through, on the contrary, could be a learning experience, a reminder, purification from sins and mistakes, a test of patience and perseverance, or all of these together. We can emerge from difficult times closer to ALLAH, stronger, united, more skilled, and more guided, but only if we know how to live through them and respond to them. There is no one to learn from who better responded to difficult times other than our beloved Prophet, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Not only was he a great man with noble character, he was also guided by revelations from ALLAH ALMIGHTY. Fol

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN THE QURAN AND SUNNAH

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm al-ithnayn. 1st day of Rabeeu ath-thaani, 1445AH (Monday, 16th October, 2023). *_MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN THE  QURAN AND SUNNAH_*. BismilLaah. Brotherhood in Islam is a comprehensive concept that is based upon good character with others, treating others the way we want to be treated, and uniting together upon common values. It has three levels of degree: religion, family, and humanity. Each of these levels has a set of rights and duties that a Muslim must uphold with others. The strongest level of brotherhood is the sense of community, friendship, and common purpose in Islam for the sake of ALLAH. At this level, the believers work together towards fulfilling the goals of the religion and without living out its divine values. The believers are but brothers, so make reconciliation between your brothers and fear ALLAH that you may receive

EFFECTS OF SINS IN OUR LIFE

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 30th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Sunday, 15th October, 2023). *_EFFECTS OF SINS IN OUR LIFE_*. Bismillah. Lets note that Sin breeds sins until it dominates a person and he cannot escape from it. It gradually strengthens his will to commit sins and weakens his will to repent until there is no will in his heart to repent at all and keeps sinning even openly. The Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAAH be upon him) said: “All of my ummah (followers) will go to Jannah except for those who commit sins openly, and that includes cases where ALLAAH conceals a person’s sin, but the following morning he exposes himself and says, ‘O So and so, I did such and such last night, so he shamelessly exposes himself when all night his Lord had concealed his sin.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5949; Muslim, 2744). let's fear ALLAH and stop our open and even secret sins and remember, the grave is waiting for us to display our sins in front of us and our regret can

KINDNESS IS OBLIGATORY EVEN TO NON MUSLIMS

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm As-Sabt. 29th day of RabeeulAwwal, 1445AH (Saturday, 14th October, 2023). *_KINDNESS IS OBLIGATORY EVEN TO NON MUSLIMS_*. BismilLah.  ALLAH says: Worship ALLAH and associate nothing with HIM, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away. Surah An-Nisa 4:36. Scholars interpreted the “neighbor farther away” to mean not only proximity, but one who is further away in religion or beliefs. Al-Qurtubi comments on this verse, saying: I say based upon this verse, kind treatment of neighbors is enjoined and is recommended, whether they are Muslim or an unbeliever, and this is the right thing to do. Kind treatment may be in the sense of helping or it may be in the sense of being kind, refraining from harm, and supporting them. Source: Tafseer Al-Qurtubi 4:36 Islam teaches us to beware of hatred, malice, and the intention to harm others. They are spiritual diseases of the heart whose consequences are d
