*Learn from Hafsah*
[[--- First Outing ---]]------------------------------
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Hafsah (r.a.) was the daughter of Umar ibn al-Khattab (r.a.). She had been married to someone else, but was widowed at age eighteen. Umar asked both Abu Bakr and Uthman, 1 by 1 if they would like to marry her, but they both declined😳. Yes, because they knew that the Prophet had expressed an interest in marrying her. When Umar went to the Prophet (pbuh) to complain about their behavior, the Prophet smiled😊, and said, *"Hafsah will marry one better than Abubakr and Uthman"*. Umar was startled and then realized that it was the Prophet was asking for her hand in marriage. He was overcome with delight. They were married just after the battle of Badr, when Hafsah was about twenty years old and the Prophet as fifty-six.
LESSONS:
*Every disappointment a blessing*
Life is all about give and take, this is the natural course of the earth which we have no power over. Life as it is and always will be, poses us with its ups and downs which we see as challenges. These challenges can be very hard nuts to crack and serve as disappointments, the big question is can disappointments truly be blessings?
This remind me,
A story was told of a Chinese man who owned a beautiful white horse in his farm. The horse was an envy to many of his friends.
One day the white horse ran away, and the villages came to this man to console him for his loss. However, the old man replied, is this good or bad, it is too early to try tell.
Several days later, the white horse return together with few other wild horse to this Chinese man. When the villagers saw this, they came congratulating him for his good luck and good fortune to have inherited so many horses now. The old man replied again, is this good or bad, it is too early to tell.
On another day, this Chinese man’s son wrote on one of the horses in an attempt to tame and train the while horse. However, he slipped and fell to the ground and broke his left left. The villagers, when they heard about the accident, came running to the old man to console him once more. They said it was bad luck for his son to break his leg. The old man replied again, good or bad, it is too early to tell.
Yet another day, war came to China and every strong and abled man were called to serve the country and fight in the war. His son was not recruited because of his broken leg. Consequently, many sons were killed during the war, but the old man’s son was spared.
The villagers then came to congratulate this old man once more for the son being safe and alive.
So, the morale of the story here is that the disappointment on one hand led to a blessing on the other. Yes. Most disappointments always result in blessings.
Oh My People
Supplication (Du'a) is the tool through which a believer fixes what is not working in life. Yes. To supplicate God is to stand at the door of His mercy and ask to be let in. It means knowing that Allah’s grace is available for His servants and those who ask for it receive it.. The door of Allah’s mercy is open for all but entry into it could be in different ways😳. Yes. It may not be in the exact way anticipated by the supplicant.
Evidence:
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) says: "Every Muslim who supplicates—unless it is for committing sins and severing kinship ties—is given by Allah one of these three things: (1) He grants his request; (2) He reserves it for him in the hereafter; or in lieu of it, (3) He repels calamity to befall him. 📚 Authentic
Now,
Disappointment in supplications (Du'a making) happens when we fail to realize the following:
1).......
