Never give up on tawbah(repenting to Allah)
As Allah says,
Fatir 35:45
And if Allāh were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon it [i.e., the earth] any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed Allāh has ever been, of His servants, Seeing.
If Allah was to held up all of our sins, there will none that will remain but Allah prolong and see if we will repent of our sins and amend our ways.
As reported in hadith,
Anas narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
Every son of Adam sins, and the best of the sinners are the repentant.""
Jami'at At Tirmidhee
Vol. 4, Book 11, Hadith 2499.
And we need to repent always making taubah.
As reported in hadith,
Abu Sirma reported that when the time of the death of Abu Ayyub Ansari drew near, he said:
I used to conceal from you a thing which I heard from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Had you not committed sins, Allah would have brought into existence a creation that would have committed sin (and Allah would have forgiven them.
Sahih Muslim 2748.
Istighfar is important and tawbah.
The prophet used to encourage his companions to repent always as he used to repent 100times a day.
As far as we are alive, we should never stop repenting from Allah of our sins
