Series on The Etiquette of Eating* *Episode 16

﷽ *Series on The Etiquette of Eating*  *Episode 16* Do not criticize or insult the food. Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) never criticized any food. If he liked it he would eat it and if he did not like it he would leave it. (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3370; Muslim, 2046) What is referred to here is permissible food; as for haraam food he would criticize it and forbid it.  [Sharh Muslim, 14/26] *Thought For The Day* When shaytān looks at you and sees you persistent in your obedience to ALLAAH (SUBHANAHU WA TA'ALA), he will do his utmost to deceive you; if he still sees you persistent, he will give up on you and leave. However, if he sees you alternating between this and that, he will have hope in you.    👉 Al-Ḥasan Al-Basri (RAHIMAHULLAAH)    [The Journey to Allah, page 39]

Let's Change Our Mindsets About Marriage* *Episode 216* WHEN YOUR WIFE IS EARNING INCOME

﷽ *Let's Change Our Mindsets About Marriage* *Episode 216* *WHEN YOUR WIFE IS EARNING INCOME* One of the most important rights that a wife has is that her husband should spend on her, and his spending on her is one of the greatest good deeds that he can do that will bring him closer to Allaah. This spending covers food, drink, clothing and housing, and all the other things that a wife needs for her sustenance and good health. When a wife is earning, the issue of shunning away from responsibility arises. Most men find it difficult to exercise justice. They feel as long as she earns income, they are free from discharging their duties. Some men out of jealousy and envy they even try to sabotage the income. At times they say things to despise the wife or make her regret starting the work or business. Even though many wives who earn assist their husbands financially. Yet, some husbands are ungrateful, they find it difficult to comprehend, all because she is a woman, and she does not de

First, Second and Third Hadīth Of The Day

﷽ *First Hadīth Of The Day* حَدَّثَنَا  عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ  ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ـ رضى الله عنهم ـ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا  رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ حَلُّوا بِعُمْرَةٍ وَلَمْ تَحْلِلْ  أَنْتَ مِنْ عُمْرَتِكَ قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنِّي لَبَّدْتُ رَأْسِي، وَقَلَّدْتُ هَدْيِي، فَلاَ أَحِلُّ حَتَّى أَنْحَرَ ‏" ‏‏.‏  Narrated Ibn `Umar:                         Hafsa said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! What is wrong with the people; they finished their Ihram after  performing `Umra, but you have not finished it after your `Umra?" He replied, "I matted my hair and  have garlanded my Hadi. So, I cannot finish my Ihram till I slaughter (my Hadi). Surah Al-Maeda, Verse 87 and 88

O you who believe! Make not unlawful the Taiyibat (all that is good as regards foods, things, deeds, beliefs, persons, etc.) which Allah has made lawful to you, and transgress not. Verily, Allah does not like the transgressors. #COMMENTARY In pleasures that are good and lawful the crime is excess. There is no merit merely in abstention or asceticism, though the humility or unselfishness that may go with asceticism may have its value. In Qur-ān chapter v, verse 82, Christian monks are praised for particular virtues, though here and elsewhere monasticism is disapproved of. Use Allāh's gifts of all kinds with gratitude, but excess is not approved of by Allāh (Sub-haanahu wata'aala).

FASTING FROM TODAY

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum al-Khamis, 8th day of Muharram (Thursday 27th August 2020). *_FASTING FROM TODAY_*. BismilLah.  Alhamdulillah for blessing us with another day and my apologies for the delay in sharing a reminder with you. I would like to remind all about the virtues of fasting in Muharram which is very beneficial especially by stepping up our efforts to fast on Mondays, Thursdays and the 3 white days of 13th, 14th and 15th of each Islamic month. In this blessed month we are encouraged to fast on the 9th, 10th and 11th just to ensure we don't miss the day of Ashoorah in which we Muslims fast in commemorating the rescue of the people of Israel by Musah alaihi Salaam (Moses) from Pharaoh as recommended by the Prophet sallallahu Alaihi wasallam.  Imam Ahmad said: whoever wants to fast ‘Ashoora’ should fast on the ninth and the tenth, unless there is some uncertainty about the months, in which case he should fast for three days. Ibn Sireen said that. Al-Mughni, 4/441

﷽ *Series on The Etiquette of Eating*  *Episode 15* Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever is fed by Allaah, let him say, ‘Allaahumma baarik lana fihi, wa at’imna khayran minhu (O Allaah, bless it for us and feed us with better than it).’ And whoever is given milk to drink by Allaah, let him say, ‘Allaahumma baarik lana fihi wa zidna minhu (O Allaah, bless it for us and give us more)’.” (Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3455).

﷽ *Let's Change Our Mindsets About Marriage* *Episode 215* *MARRIAGE IS A TEST* Brothers and sisters, If you think your spouse is making your life difficult, then do these. Forget about the pain, forget about the discomfort, forget about the loneliness, remember, the Messenger of Allāh (Blessings and Peace of Allāh be upon him) underwent more than any human being could bear, yet He was patient and he emerged victorious. And today, 2 billion people are worshipping the right God because of his patience. So my brothers and sisters, be patient, for, by Allah, your patience will be hugely rewarded by Allah, and guess what, in the day of Qiyamah, you will be amongst those who will be sheltered by the shade of Allah. You will smile and laugh while your oppressor is crying and regretting. So be patient. Marriage itself is a test. By Allah, By Allah, if any Man, takes a second wife, with the intention to simply keep her as a sex object, without giving her her due rights, By Allah, that man
