 THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 18th day of Jumaadal Aakhir, 1445AH (Sunday, 31st December, 2023). *_CONTROLLING OUR TONGUE FROM BACKBITING AND SLANDERING_*. BismilLah.  Controlling the tongue for many people is more difficult than abstaining from food and drinks. It is easy to abstain from food and drink, but abstaining one’s tongue is a really difficult one even during fasting.  What we need to remember is that ALLAH is not in need of the fasting of such a person. The Prophet sallallahu  alaihi  wasallam said: “Whoever does not give up false speech and acting upon it, ALLAH has no need of him giving up his food and drink.” [Tirmidhi 707]. Even though it is difficult to always keep our tongue under control, let us try our best. Let us constantly keep reminding ourselves that we are not only abstaining from food and drink and that we are also abstaining from all sorts of sins, which will cause us to attain the anger of ALLAH. This is ISLAM. This message is conveyed towards generations of man through the different prophets, all inviting mankind to the same path. However all the earlier messages or revelations from ALLAH were distorted by people of later generations. As a result, pure Revelation from our Creator was adulterated and polluted with myths, superstitions, idol worship and irrational philosophical ideologies. BismilLah.  Faith and righteous deeds are the greatest and most fundamental means of attaining happiness in life. ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter)” [al-Nahl 16:97].  ALLAH tells us and promises us that whoever combines faith with righteous deeds will have a good life and a good reward in this world and in the Hereafter. We feel as if those around us will not be taken from us, and we form deep attachments that make it difficult for us to cope or even comprehend when someone is not there anymore. In understanding death, we have to first understand life. The nature of this world is that everything in it is temporary. Monuments crumble, civilizations perish, and people come and go. Health alternates illness. The old make way for the new, and the cycle of life continues.  THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 14th day of Jumaadal Aakhir, 1445AH (Wednesday, 27th December, 2023). ALWAYS REMEMBER DEATH AND NOTE THAT YOU EARN NOTHING GOOD EXCEPT ALLAH HAD DECREED_*. BismilLah.  ALLAH says in Qur’an  4:78 Wheresoever you may be, death will overtake you, meaning, you shall certainly die, and none of you shall ever escape death. as ALLAH says again in Quran 55:26, كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish).  Also ALLAH says 21:24 كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَايِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ Everyone shall taste death,  and in 21:24 وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ الْخُلْدَ And ALLAH granted not to any human being immortality before you.   Therefore, every soul shall taste death, and nothing can save any person from it.
