THE LESSON OF MANNA AND SALWĀ

FAJR REMINDER: THE LESSON OF MANNA AND SALWĀ By: Umm ‘Affān Jumādā al-Ūlā 16, 1448 AH (27 October 2026) One of life's greatest tragedies is not the absence of blessings, but our failure to recognise their value because we have become too accustomed to them. What once brought tears of gratitude to our eyes can gradually become a source of complaints. Likewise, what we once prayed for so desperately can eventually become something we take for granted. This profound lesson is reflected in the story of Banī Isrā’īl in Sūrah al-Baqarah. Have you ever read this passage and wondered, “Honestly, wouldn't I also get tired of eating Manna and Salwā every day?” Before judging their response, let us reflect on the extraordinary favours Allāh bestowed upon them. Allāh rescued Banī Isrā’īl from the tyranny of Fir‘awn, delivered them from slavery and suffering, and allowed them to witness the miraculous parting of the sea. Then, while they wandered through a barren wilderness where f...

SUFYĀN’S ADVICE TO YOU

SUFYĀN’S ADVICE TO YOU بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ It is reported that Sufyān ath-Thawrī (رحمه الله) said before his death: “If you depart for the Hereafter without preparing the provisions of piety, you will meet people who prepared theirs, and you will regret not having done likewise.” My dear brothers and sisters in Islām! Do not allow your appearance, strength, health, wealth, or youth to deceive you. All these blessings are temporary, and the life of this world can be like a mirage: something that appears everlasting until reality reveals otherwise. Health will eventually give way to sickness, youth will be followed by old age, and strength will ultimately turn into weakness. Nothing in this world remains forever except what Allāh wills. Therefore, prepare for the Hereafter while you still have the opportunity. Every good deed you perform—and every temptation you resist for the sake of Allāh—is an investment in your eternal life. Each act of sincerity, pa...

A GUIDE TO DIVINE BLESSINGS

FAJR REMINDER: A GUIDE TO DIVINE BLESSINGS Jumādā al-Ūlā 15, 1448 AH (26 October 2026) Blessings are among the greatest things we desire in life. We all yearn for the blessings of Allāh in our families, work, worship, health, wealth, and every other aspect of our lives. But how can we attain Barakah (divine blessings) and make it a lasting part of our daily lives? Here are six important practices that can help us seek greater Barakah in our lives, by the permission of Allāh. 1. Remember Allāh Consistently If you desire blessings in your heart, time, home, and life, remember Allāh frequently. Dhikr (the remembrance of Allāh) brings tranquillity to the heart, strengthens faith, and reminds us to remain conscious of our Creator. Allāh (ﷻ) says: “Those who believe and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allāh. Verily, in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest.” [Sūrah Ar-Ra‘d (13): 28] Allāh (ﷻ) also warns against turning away from His remembrance: “But who...

THE REAL MEANING OF “NOTHING CAN HAPPEN TO US WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH AZZA WA JALL” CONTINUES

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER Yaum al-Ithnayn | 15th day of Jumādā al-Ūlā, 1448 AH | Monday, 26th October, 2026 _THE REAL MEANING OF “NOTHING CAN HAPPEN TO US WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH AZZA WA JALL” CONTINUES Bismillāh ir-Raḥmān ir-Raḥīm. Does ALLAH’S decree mean we should accept injustice? Absolutely not! This is a very important lesson for every Muslim to understand. If someone abuses you, cheats you, takes your property unjustly, or treats you unfairly, you should not assume that you must remain silent simply because the incident occurred within the decree of ALLAH Azza wa Jall. You are permitted to seek justice, report wrongdoing, protect yourself and your family, and pursue lawful remedies. ALLAH Azza wa Jall commands us to uphold justice in the Glorious Qur’an, particularly in Surah An-Nisā’ (4:135) . The fact that an injustice occurred by ALLAH’s decree does not mean that the injustice itself is morally acceptable or pleasing to Him. Accepting the decree of ALLAH m...

STEPMOTHER’S EVIL: THE POWER OF TAHAJJUD

STEPMOTHER’S EVIL: THE POWER OF TAHAJJUD بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Never underestimate the power of turning to Allah SWT in the stillness of the night. There was once a young woman named Zainab whose mother passed away when she was still a child. Before her mother breathed her last, she held Zainab’s hand and gave her some heartfelt advice: “My daughter, never abandon Tahajjud. No matter what life brings your way, always strive to stand before Allah in the quiet hours of the night.” After her mother’s death, Zainab’s father remarried. Unfortunately, her stepmother never accepted her. For twenty long years, she harboured hatred towards Zainab and wished to see her fail in life. She wanted Zainab to remain poor, lonely, unsuccessful, and unhappy. Her resentment grew so deep that she even wished to see Zainab destroyed. Yet Zainab refused to allow bitterness to consume her heart. She remembered her mother’s advice and held firmly to her relationship with Allah. ...

NEVER BE OVERCONFIDENT ABOUT YOUR END

FAJR REMINDER: NEVER BE OVERCONFIDENT ABOUT YOUR END Jumādā al-Ūlā 14, 1448 AH (25 October 2026) No one knows how their life will ultimately end. What if someone we regard as righteous ends up with an unfortunate end? Conversely, what if someone we consider sinful sincerely repents and meets a beautiful end? Therefore, a Muslim who strives to follow the Straight Path must never become arrogant or presume that a good ending is guaranteed. Instead, we must remain steadfast, fear Allāh, and continually seek His Mercy. ‘Ā’ishah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhā) narrated that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “Follow the right course, seek nearness to Allāh, and give glad tidings. Verily, none of you will enter Paradise by his deeds alone.” They asked, “Not even you, O Messenger of Allāh?” He replied, “Not even me, unless Allāh grants me His Mercy…” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6464; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2818] In another narration, Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said:...

YOUR RECORDED TALKS

YOUR RECORDED TALKS بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Imagine if every conversation you had throughout your life were brought before you on the Day of Judgement. Every word, every whisper, every private conversation, and every comment you posted online could form part of your record. Would you be proud of what you see, or would you deeply regret the words you spoke carelessly? Allah SWT reminds us in the Glorious Qur’an: ۞ لَّا خَيْرَ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِّن نَّجْوَىٰهُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلَاحٍ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ ۚ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ ابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاتِ اللَّهِ فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا “There is no good in much of their private conversation, except for those who encourage charity, promote what is right, or make peace between people. Whoever does that, seeking the pleasure of Allah, We will grant them a great reward.” 📖 Surah An-Nisā’ 4:114 NOW, ASK YOURSELF: Will your chat history, private conversations, and online comme...

SHE SERVED AT UḤUD AND CARRIED A DAGGER AT ḤUNAYN

FAJR REMINDER: SHE SERVED AT UḤUD AND CARRIED A DAGGER AT ḤUNAYN By: Umm ‘Affān Jumādā al-Ūlā 13, 1448 AH | Saturday, 24 October 2026 Beautifully, the history of Islām is filled with inspiring women whose bravery, sacrifices, and contributions deserve to be remembered and celebrated. Among these remarkable women was Rumaysā’ bint Milḥān al-Anṣārīyah al-Khazrajīyah , popularly known as Umm Sulaym (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhā), the noble mother of the distinguished Companion Anas ibn Mālik (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu). Having previously explored aspects of her marital life, let us reflect today on her remarkable courage and contributions during the military expeditions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). HER SERVICE AT THE BATTLE OF UḤUD At the Battle of Uḥud, Umm Sulaym (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhā) did not remain a passive observer. She actively supported the Muslim fighters alongside ‘Ā’ishah bint Abī Bakr (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhā), supplying water to the thirsty and assisting the wounded. Anas ibn Mālik (Raḍiy...

THE REAL MEANING OF “NOTHING CAN HAPPEN TO US WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH AZZAWAJAL” — CONTINUED

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER Yaum As-Sabt | 13th Day of Jumādā al-Ūlā, 1448 AH | Saturday, 24th October, 2026 THE REAL MEANING OF “NOTHING CAN HAPPEN TO US WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH AZZAWAJAL” — CONTINUED Bismillāh. What Does the Permission of Allah Azzawajal Really Mean? Allah Azzawajal says: “No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah, He will guide his heart.” 📖 Qur’an 64:11 This verse teaches us that even when painful events occur, they do not escape the knowledge and decree of Allah Azzawajal. In Islam, this is part of Al-Qadr (Divine Decree), which is one of the six pillars of Īmān (faith). It means believing that: Allah Azzawajal knows everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen. Nothing occurs outside His supreme authority and will. Whatever Allah Azzawajal decrees will occur, and whatever He does not decree will not occur. His wisdom is perfect, even when we cannot understand the reasons behind certain...

IT’S TIME. GET READY!

IT’S TIME. GET READY! Preparing Our Hearts for Laylat al-Jumu‘ah and the Blessed Day of Friday بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Alhamdulillāh, all praise belongs to Allah, who has granted us another opportunity to witness the approach of Friday, a day of great virtue and significance in Islam. The night preceding Friday begins at sunset on Thursday. It is known as Laylat al-Jumu‘ah — the night of Friday. As this blessed time approaches, let us prepare our hearts and tongues to engage in one of the beautiful acts of worship encouraged by our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ: sending abundant Ṣalawāt upon him. Let us begin on Thursday night and continue throughout Friday, remembering the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with love, sincerity and devotion. One simple form of Ṣalawāt is: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ Allahumma ṣalli wa sallim ‘alā Nabiyyinā Muhammad. O Allah, send Your blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. WHY SHOULD WE DO THIS? Hav...

THE REAL MEANING OF “NOTHING CAN HAPPEN TO US WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLĀH AZZAWAJAL

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER Yaumul Jumu‘ah | 12th day of Jumādā al-Ūlā, 1448 AH | Friday, 23 October 2026 THE REAL MEANING OF “NOTHING CAN HAPPEN TO US WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLĀH AZZAWAJAL” Bismillāh ir-Raḥmān ir-Raḥīm. Alḥamdulillāh for granting us the opportunity to witness another blessed Friday, a day of immense significance for the Muslim Ummah. Today, let us reflect on Qadr (Divine Decree), trusting Allāh Azzawajal, and applying this fundamental belief in our daily lives as Muslims. Have you ever wondered why you worked so hard but still failed? Why someone you loved disappointed you? Why you lost a job, experienced sickness, faced financial hardship, or went through a difficult period despite making du‘ā and praying to Allāh Azzawajal? One of the greatest truths that can strengthen our hearts during such moments is this: Nothing happens outside the knowledge and decree of Allāh Azzawajal. Whatever occurs does so within His supreme knowledge and will. This belief i...

UNDERSTANDING THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY OF ‘UMRAH

FAJR REMINDER: UNDERSTANDING THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY OF ‘UMRAH Jumādā al-‘Ūlā 12, 1448 AH | Friday, 23 October 2026 What immense goodness do Muslims gain when they travel to Makkah to perform ‘Umrah? The rewards are indeed tremendous! Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “From one ‘Umrah to the next is an expiation for whatever (minor) sins are committed between them, and the accepted Ḥajj has no reward except Paradise.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1773; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1349] Did you know that our beloved Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) performed four ‘Umrahs after the Hijrah to Madīnah? This is established in authentic narrations recorded in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim. Hammām narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) performed four ‘Umrahs, three of which took place in Dhū al-Qa‘dah, apart from the ‘Umrah he performed alongside his Ḥajj. They were: The ‘Umrah of al-Ḥudaybiyyah. The ‘Umrah of the following year, known as ‘Umrat al-Qaḍā’. The ‘Umrah from al-...

THE OPENING THAT TEACHES US HOW TO LIVE

FAJR REMINDER: THE OPENING THAT TEACHES US HOW TO LIVE Jumādā al-Ūlā 11, 1448 AH | Thursday, 22 October 2026 The Qur’ān begins with Sūrah Al-Fātiḥah, rather than with the creation of the heavens and the earth, the story of Ādam (عليه السلام), or the command to observe Ṣalāh. After mentioning His Names and Attributes in the opening verse, Allāh teaches us the importance of gratitude in the second verse: “Alḥamdulillāhi Rabbil-‘Ālamīn” — “All the praises and thanks be to Allāh, the Lord of all that exists.” Why is gratitude so essential? An ungrateful heart, consumed by a sense of entitlement, often overlooks its blessings and becomes less willing to recognize and submit to Divine Guidance. Gratitude, on the other hand, reminds us that every blessing we enjoy comes from Allāh and that our lives should reflect our appreciation of His favours. Allāh then identifies Himself as Ar-Raḥmān (The Most Merciful) and Ar-Raḥīm (The Especially Merciful). How misguided it is to portray...

ALLAH INVITES YOU

ALLAH INVITES YOU ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ THE BEAUTY OF QIYĀM AL-LAYL AND TAHAJJUD Have you ever wondered why some people willingly leave their comfortable beds in the middle of the night just to stand before Allah SWT? It is not because they have no problems. It is not because their lives are perfect. Rather, they recognise that there is something more precious than sleep, comfort, money and worldly pleasures: the opportunity to stand before their Creator when most of the world is asleep. WHAT IS QIYĀM AL-LAYL AND TAHAJJUD? Qiyām al-Layl refers to voluntary worship performed at night, including prayer, remembrance of Allah and recitation of the Qur'an. Tahajjud commonly refers to voluntary night prayer performed after waking from sleep. Both are beautiful acts of worship, and both offer opportunities to draw closer to Allah SWT. WHEN DOES THE TIME FOR TAHAJJUD BEGIN AND END? The time for night prayer begins after Ṣalāt al-‘Ishā’ and...

MEANING AND APPLYING ISTIQĀMAH IN OUR LIVES AS MUSLIMS — CONTINUED

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER Yaum Al-Khamis | 11th Day of Jumādā al-Ūlā, 1448 AH | Thursday, 22nd October 2026 MEANING AND APPLYING ISTIQĀMAH IN OUR LIVES AS MUSLIMS — CONTINUED بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ Based on yesterday’s reminder, how can we apply Istiqāmah (steadfastness and consistency in obeying Allah Azzawajal) in our daily lives? 1. Remain Consistent in Our Five Daily Prayers Let us not worship Allah Azzawajal only when we are in trouble. We must strive to observe our prayers on time during happiness and sadness, in wealth and poverty, and in every situation in life. Let us not confine our worship to the comfort of our homes but also strive to participate in congregational prayers at the masjid. 2. Maintain a Strong Relationship with the Qur’an Let us recite the Qur’an, strive to understand its meanings and practise its teachings regularly, even if we can manage only a few verses each day. Consistency in our relationship with the Book of Allah is more ben...
