THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Khamis, 5th day of Shăbaan, 1440, (Thursday, 11th April, 2019).
*_UNLAWFUL EARNED MONEY_*. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
One of the companions of the Prophet once said to the Messenger of ALLAH (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam): “Pray to ALLAH that HE may accept my prayers.” The Messenger of ALLAH (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Eat lawful food and for that your Dua or prayers will be accepted.” Notice that the Prophet did not just start praying for him but advised him to ensure his source of income is halaal and ALLAH will then answer his dua.
If you feel that your prayers are not being answered, look into the source of your income. Scrutinize it carefully. Are you going against any of ALLAH'S ’s injunctions to earn it? Whatever a person spends to take care of another, or in charity, or in the Path of ALLAH, ALLAH is capable of supporting HIS servants and projects as such its important we give in charity only what we earn lawfully else you get no rewards. Ramadan is approaching, so let's purify our income to ensure we don't lose out.
A charitable person only pleases ALLAH (subhana wa ta’ala) if he performs charity for the sake of ALLAH with lawful earned money. If a person performs charity with unlawful money to please ALLAH (subhana wa ta’ala) with it, he should know that ALLAH is not pleased with ill-gotten money. ALLAH is not pleased with us violating HIS prescribed laws to earn money and then spending some of that money for charity. That alone is an insult to HIS Majesty.
He who spends in charity out of unlawful wealth is like the person who washes his or her dirty clothes with wine or urine. Dirty or impure things cannot be purified except with water and so there is no expiation of sins without lawful things.
*_May ALLAH (Al-Qayyuum, The Maintainer of Life) protect us from any unlawful sources of income_*. Aameen.
