Virtues of Fasting of Ramadan

*RAMADAN 1440H: Virtues of Fasting of Ramadan*

1. The odour (originate from the stomach) through the mouth of a fasting person is more pleasant to Allaah than the aroma of musk.

2. Angels ask Allaah's forgiveness for the fasting people till they break their fast.

3. There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Rayaan, and none except the fasting people will enter
through it.

4. In Ramadan, devils are shackled.

5. In it, there is the Night of Decree (Lailatul Qadr) which is better than a thousand months.

6. Those who fast are forgiven for their sins in the last night of Ramadan.

7. In every night of Ramadan, Allaah releases a
number of people from Hell.

8. Every day, Allah, having decorated His Paradise, says, *"O Paradise! My good worshippers are about to throw off the burden (of life) and the harm done to them and then get to you!"*

After knowing the aforementioned advantages of Ramadan, how should we get ready to receive it? A true believer should receive Ramadan with true repentance and a strong will to avail himself of Allaah's special mercy and kindness bestowed on him during this holy month. He should spend his time doing what is good and useful.

Allaah of Messenger (SAW) Said;
*“Whoever observes (fasts) during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allaah’s reward, then all his pasts will be forgiven”* (Al-Bukhari)

Ramadan is a time of worship and contemplation. A time to strengthen family and community ties. Therefore, it is recommended that every Muslim should be prepared to receive this blessed month fasting, standing in prayer, spending the nights in worship with sincere faith and hoping for Allah’s reward. In Shaa Allaah!

*Ramadan is certain in one of the following cases:*

1. When Shaban completes 30 days. It has been reported that reported that the Prophet (SAW) said:
*“Fast (Muslims) when you see the crescent. If it is obscure to you, then complete thirty days in the count of Sha'ban."* (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Allaah’s Messenger (SAW) took great care to determine precisely the beginning of Shaban, because one can then count twenty-nine days and watch for the crescent of Ramadan or complete thirty days before starting to fast.

This is indicated in the Hadeeth narrated by Aishah (RA):
*“The Messenger (Peace and Blessing of Allah be upon him) used to be more concerned about determining the beginning of Shaban than about
other months. Then he used to fast at the sighting of the crescent of Ramadan. If it were obscure, he would count thirty days of
Shaban and then fast”* (Abu Dawud and Ahmad)

2. Sighting of the crescent.

Allaah has set crescent sighting as the only means for determining dates of various Islamic occasions such as Ramadan, Eids and Hajj.

He said:
*"They ask you (O Muhammad) about the new moons. Say:
'These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for the Hajj (pilgrimage)’"*. (2:182)

Regarding Ramadan, He said:
*"So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must
observe Saum fasts) that month. . ."* (2: 185)

Similarly, Allah’s Messenger (SAW)
emphasized that crescent sighting is required in determining the beginning and the end of the month of Ramadan.

Abu Hurairah said, Allaah's Messenger (SAW) said:
*"Observe fasting upon sighting the crescent and break your fast upon sighting it (the new moon). But if it is not possible to sight it, complete the month of thirty days”* (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
