*AR-RAHĪQ AL-MAKHTOUM (The Pure Nectar). A Treaties On Prophet Muhammad's Biography.*

*Part 35*

*VARIOUS WAYS OF OPPOSING THE CALLING OF THE PROPHET (Blessings and Peace be upon him) BY THE UNBELIEVERS*

Once Quraish's finished the activities of Hajj, they thought of other new ways through which they could nip the Islamic calling in the bud. These methods can be summarised into the following points:

*1. DERISION, DISDAIN, DISBELIEF AND BELYING:* They attempted to frustrate Muslims and undermine their morale. So they impeached the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) for false accusations and silly abuses. They used to describe him as "mad", they labelled him as "a sorcerer and liar." Allāh says:

Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 6:

And they say: "O you (Muhammad [Blessings and Peace be upon him]) to whom the Dhikr (the Qur-ān) has been sent down! Verily, you are a mad man.

Surah Sad, Verse 4:

And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad [Blessings and Peace be upon him]) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad [Blessings and Peace be upon him]) is a sorcerer, a liar.

They also used to meet and receive the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) by resentful and disgruntled gazes and impetuous and indiscreet feelings. Allāh says:

Surah Al-Qalam, Verse 51:

And verily, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes through hatredness when they hear the Reminder (the Qur-ān), and they say: "Verily, he (Muhammad [Blessings and Peace be upon him]) is a madman!"

Whenever they saw the weak followers of the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) sitting with him, they derided them and said caustically, "These are his Companions."

Surah Al-Anaam, Verse 53:

Thus We have tried some of them with others, that they might say: "Is it these (poor believers) that Allāh has favoured from amongst us?" Does not Allāh know best those who are grateful?

Allāh tells us in the Glorious Qur-ān that they also used to do the following:

Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Verse 29-33:

Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.

And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery);

And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting;

And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!"

But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers).

They escalated their derision, ridicule and impugnation so excessively that the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) was grieved. Allāh says:

Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 97:

Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say.

Then Allāh strengthened him to stick to what could dispel his grief and trouble through the verse reading:

Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 98:

So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him).

Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 99:

And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death).

Also, Allāh told him before that He protects him from deriders as in the verse reading:

Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 95:

Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers.

Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 96:

Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know.

Allāh informs that their deeds will bring destruction and bad consequences upon them. He (Allāh) says:

Surah Al-Anaam, Verse 10:

And indeed (many) Messengers were mocked before you, but their scoffers were surrounded by the very thing that they used to mock at.

*{To be continued In-sha-Allāh (If Allāh Wills)...}*

*"And keep reminding, because reminding benefits the believers."* (Qur'an 51:55)

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
