What happens when we make Du'ā

*What happens when we make Du'ā*

It is very frustrating for some people to spend years making one single dua and yet the dua is not answered. People at times grow impatience and give up. Lots have lost their iman (faith) due to this issue. So, is it that Allah does not listen? Bcos He Almighty says He answers every dua. Is it that Allah hates you? Subhanallah, how can the Creator hates His creation? Or is it because you don't pray enough?

First, why are duas not answered? Based on the hadith of the Prophet PBUH, He says the dua of 5 are not answered, they are rejected:

1. One whose income or earnings is haram.

2. One who eats, drinks, and wears haram.

3. One who eats the possession of an orphan.

4. One who consumes ribah (Bank interests or similar)

5. One who oppresses others such as a ruler or leader.

6. One who is committing shirk.

7. One who does not show mercy on others.

8. One who only goes to Allah when he's in trouble. He never prays, fasts, or supplicate. One day he is in trouble and he wants Allah. Allah turns away from such people.

So if you have any of the above characteristics, your dua could be rejected.

So what happens when we make dua:

According to various narrations from collectors of hadith, we learned that if one makes dua, any of the following could be possible :

1. The dua is answered immediately and we see immediately action or results.

2. The dua is delayed for some reasons best known to Allah. Probably at that very moment, the thing you desire is not suitable for you.

3. The dua could be rejected bcos you are asking for the impossible or something harmful. For example, to make dua for an Angel to come down, or to make dua to become a prophet. Or to make dua to Allah for one to be destroyed. Such duas are rejected.

4. The dua could be rejected in this world, but is kept for the hereafter. The Prophet PBUH says on the day of judgement, some people will come and their scales will be full. They will ask, what did we do that filled our scale, the Angels will reply, this is the result of your patience in dunya. When you made dua, it was not granted, but you were patient, so Allah saved it for you here. So you will enter Jannah.

So brothers and sisters, when you make dua, always have positivity about Allah. Be patient, don't rush.

How to make dua.

1. The best way to make dua is to identify the best times in which dua is accepted. Some of them include the time of fajr, the time after asar, when you embark on a journey, when you are fasting, during iftar, during rain ☔, during tahajjud in the middle of the night etc.

2. When making dua be sincere in your wording and in the way you talk.

3. Always start your dua with istighfār, then praise Allah using his most beautiful names.

4. Praise Allah based on the subject of the dua. For example, ya Allah you are the owner of cure and health, cure me. Ya Allah you are the provider and enricher, make me rich etc.

5. Crying during dua fasten its acceptance.

6. Do all these in sujud bcos the Prophet says, servant in sujud is closer to Allah than he is closer to his jugular vein.

Ya Allah if anyone reads this and benefit from it, grant my parents the reward. Amin.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
