From Ibn ‘Umar (رضي الله عنه) who said: _“Whilst we were praying with the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) a man from amongst the people recited;_
*اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلاً*
_Allaahu Akbaru kabeera, wal-hamdu Lillahi katheera, wa Subhan-Allaahi bukratan wa'asila_
_(Allāh is Great, the Greatest, and praise belongs to Allāh in abundance, and glorified be Allāh at the beginning and end of the day),_
So the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) asked (after prayer): _*“Who said such and such?!!”*_ The man replied: _“I did O Messenger of Allāh.”_ So the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: _*“I was amazed by it, for it opened the gates of heaven.”*_
Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنه) said: _“I have not abandoned them (i.e these words) since I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) saying that.”_
[Sahih Muslim 601, Sunan an-Nasa'i 886, At-Tirmidhi 223 & Abu Awaanah; Abu Nuaim also narrated it in Akhbaar Isbahaan 1/210 from Jubair ibn Mut'am who heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say in voluntary prayer]
Note: Sh. al-Albānī Raḥimahullāh mentioned in his book (صفة صلاة النبي) that this Dhikr is from one of the supplications with which the prayer is opened (after the first Takbeer).
