The Banu Qainuqa shut themselves in their strongholds, and the Muslims laid siege to their strongholds. The command to purify our hearts from sins was an essential Islamic teaching ever since the early stages of the revelation in Macca. This is known as “purification of the soul” (tazkiyyatun-nafs).  ALLAH says: HE has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul. Surah Ash-Shams 91:9-10. Also ALLAH says: A day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in he who comes  to ALLAH with a pure heart. Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:88-89.  We learn from these verses that our success in the Hereafter depends upon the purification of our hearts in this life. Please remember al-Fattah when we feel that things are impossible or too difficult because ALLAH (swt) invites us to know HIM through HIS Names in any circumstances. Sheikh Al-Ghazali explained his understanding about al-Fattah, he said  “ALLAH is the One by Whose concern everything that is closed is opened.” If I tell you to open the door, it must mean that the door is closed. If it is already opened, you would probably give me a funny look. So, what does this mean? ALLAH al-Fattah opens the things that are closed. ALLAH says in the Holy Qur’an to the nearest meaning; To ALLAH belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; HE creates what HE wills. HE gives to whom HE wills female [children], and HE gives to whom HE wills males. Or gives in mix of males and females, and HE renders whom HE wills barren. Indeed, HE is Knowing and Competent. Ash-Shura 42:49/50. So people are divided into four categories when it comes to blessings with children: some are given daughters, some are given sons, some are given both sons and daughters, and some are not given either sons or daughters, but they are rendered barren, with no offspring. Umm Haraam inquired, "Holy Prophet, will I be one of them". The Holy Prophet said, "Yes, you will be one of them, but you will be martyred and would die in the distant land". True to the prophesy of the Holy Prophet Umm Haraam was one of the persons who landed on the island of Cypress. After landing on the island, she proceeded inland on a pony. She fell from the pony on the way and died. She was buried on the island. BismilLah.  Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH, sallallahu alaihi wasallam, said: وَلَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ Cursing a believer is like killing him and charging a believer with unbelief is like killing him. Source: Sahih Bukhari 5754. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of ALLAH, peace and blessings be upon him, said: لَا يَنْبَغِي لِصِدِّيقٍ أَنْ يَكُونَ لَعَّانًا It is not befitting the truthful that they curse others. Source: Sahih Muslim 2597. Let's avoid cursing our kids if we want them to be successful in life.
