IS THE WIFE ENTITLED TO A MONTHLY ALLOWANCE FROM THE HUSBAND?

*_IS THE WIFE ENTITLED TO A MONTHLY ALLOWANCE FROM THE HUSBAND?_*. BismilLah. 


Scholars​ based on Qur'an and sunnah has explained that What the husband must do is spend on his wife on a reasonable basis, which includes the costs of accommodation, food, drink, clothing, and includes medical treatment and medicine etc. 


With regard to food, drink and clothing, that is because ALLAH, may HE be exalted, says: “but the father of the child shall bear the cost of the mother’s food and clothing on a reasonable basis” [al-Baqarah 2:233].


The Prophet (blessings and peace of ALLAH be upon him) said: “Their rights over you are that you should provide for them and clothe them on a reasonable basis.”Narrated by Muslim (1218). 


Our wives are not our slaves, they are our companions on earth and in Paradise be-iznilLah (ALLAH willing). Even slaves had rights in Islam. We must treat them as we want our daughters to be treated in their marriage home. They must be our best friends and be treated like the way we treat our little children, with care and love. That's the teachings of Islam.  The Prophet Mohammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam again said, the best among you are those who are best to their wives. May ALLAH increase us in patience to be able to treat our wives as best as possible regardless of their wrong attitude towards us. Aameen.

 *BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
