Tomorrow you may never see. It is not promised to you. Today is all you have. This is your chance to do lots of good deeds. So, what will you do with your today and everyday? My People, Our greatest enemy is not outside of us. It is inside. Yes. And it is our sins. Sin is like a poison for our heart. Our heart is the engine of our body. If the engine is damaged, the whole body stops working. In fact, If you have ever wanted or tried to be reading the Qur'an everyday or praying Tahajjud everyday or giving sadaqah FREQUENTLY but you just cannot, then, there's a problem somewhere. Yes. BismilLahir Rahmanir Raheem.  Alhamdulillah, In yesterday's reminder, we studied about the history and context of this suurah. Let's now start studying the meaning and brief Commentary of each verse.  1. لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ I (ALLAH) swear by this city (Makkah). Commentary: ALLAH Azzawajal swears by Makkah, a place of honor and sacredness, to draw attention to an important truth. This also comforts the Prophet ﷺ despite hardship, this city holds great significance. 2. وَأَنتَ حِلٌّ بِهَٰذَا الْبَلَدِ And you (O Prophet) are free (of restriction) in this city. Commentary: Despite Makkah’s sanctity, the Prophet ﷺ was being harmed there. ALLAH Azzawajal begins by honoring Makkah, the sacred city. The suurah addresses the struggles of human life, especially the resistance of arrogant people who refuse truth. It highlights the contrast between: Those who choose ease, selfishness, and arrogance And those who take the difficult path of righteousness and sacrifice. It reminds us that life itself is a test full of struggle, and true success lies in choosing the harder but righteous path. Life was never meant to be easy.  FAJR REMINDER: SPENDING FOR ALLĀH’S SAKE By: Umm Affān Shawwāl 10, 1447 (29-March-2026) The fourth of the four acts through which we can attain Allāh’s Love—mentioned in the Ḥadīth of Mu’ādh Ibn Jabal (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu)—is SPENDING ON ONE ANOTHER FOR ALLĀH’S SAKE. Allāh, out of His immense Mercy, has made it binding upon Himself to love those who give to others purely for His Sake. This kind of spending is not just about giving, it reflects true generosity and sincerity. It is when a person gives selflessly, seeking nothing in return—not praise, not recognition, but only the Pleasure of Allāh. Such giving nurtures compassion within the heart and strengthens the bond within the community.
