Chapter Twenty-Three: Rain, Qur’an, and Smiles After Years of Trials

Nīkah Written by Qādr, Tested by Genotype Chapter Twenty-Three: Rain, Qur’an, and Smiles After Years of Trials It was one of those mornings where the sky carried a soft rain that fell gently without anger, and the air was cool enough to make everyone stay indoors or gather under shelter. The whole environment felt calm, and for once, there was no rush, no hospital worry, no urgent stress about sickness or medication. It felt like a small break had been written into our lives, even if only for a short time. We were all together in one space, myself, my husband Julaybib, and our children Sibghatullah and Ghurobah. The sound of rain tapping lightly on the surroundings created a peaceful background that made everything feel softer than usual. Sibghatullah was sitting comfortably, holding a Qur’an, while Ghurobah stayed close to me, watching everything with curiosity. Julaybib suddenly looked at Sibghatullah with a playful expression, the kind of expression that meant something mischie...

Chapter Twenty-Two: When Blessings Finally Speak Clearly

Nīkah Written by Qādr, Tested by Genotype Chapter Twenty-Two: When Blessings Finally Speak Clearly Alhamdulilah, it had been exactly fifteen years since we got married, and when I looked back at everything that had happened within that period, it felt like I was reviewing a life that had passed through different seasons of ease, difficulty, silence, and understanding. Time had moved in a way that did not feel slow or fast anymore, but meaningful in a way that could only be understood through reflection. Sibghatullah had now grown into a young boy on the path of adulthood, approaching fourteen years of age, while his younger sister Ghurobah was approaching seven years old. They were no longer small children in the way we once knew them, because their personalities, awareness, and understanding had begun to develop in ways that showed growth and maturity. Sibghatullah was already in Senior Secondary School 2 and preparing to move into SS3, while Ghurobah had just completed her prima...

Chapter Twenty-One: Truth Spoken in Tears

Nīkah Written by Qādr, Tested by Genotype Chapter Twenty-One: Truth Spoken in Tears When my husband returned home that day, the atmosphere inside me was already heavy because of everything I had discussed earlier with my friends. I had not planned to bring it up immediately, but something within me felt that it was necessary not to delay it. I told him everything we had spoken about regarding genotype, how we had reflected on awareness, and how we felt it should have been understood earlier in our lives, especially before marriage and children. For a moment, I thought he would become upset or withdraw into silence, but instead, he looked at me quietly and said that it was something he had also been thinking about for a long time. He said he wanted us to talk about it properly, without rushing, without fear, and without hiding how deeply it had affected us. That was how the conversation began between us, slowly, carefully, and with a heaviness that neither of us could ignore. We sa...

Chapter Twenty: What We Learned Too Late

Nīkah Written by Qādr, Tested by Genotype Chapter Twenty: What We Learned Too Late Life after marriage did not unfold in the way we once imagined when we were younger and full of simple expectations about love, companionship, and family. Instead, what followed was a long journey marked by repeated trials, emotional weight, and moments that forced us to grow in ways we never prepared for. Over time, what once felt like excitement turned into responsibility, and what once felt like ease became something we only remembered from a distance. We lost people along the way, not always through conflict, but through distance that slowly formed as life became heavier. Some friends stopped visiting, some relatives became less present, and some relationships simply faded because they could not withstand the consistency of difficulty that followed us. However, even in the midst of that silence, there remained a small circle of people who continued to stand by us without hesitation. Among them w...

Chapter Nineteen: Between Tests and Merc

Nīkah Written by Qādr, Tested by Genotype Chapter Nineteen: Between Tests and Mercy Days passed in a way that no longer felt steady or predictable, because time itself seemed to move with a pattern that carried repeated trials without warning. Weeks followed one another, and those weeks eventually turned into months, yet within that flow of time, health did not remain constant for our family. Illness became something that appeared suddenly and moved from one person to another, as if it was passing through the household in cycles that we could not fully prevent. Sibghatullah fell ill during one week, and just when we thought he was recovering, his younger sister Ghurobah became unwell in the following weeks, and not long after that, their father also became sick, leaving me to witness each situation one after another without any pause in between. There were moments when I sat alone and felt overwhelmed by everything that was happening around me, because it felt as though I was the ...

Chapter Eighteen: A Day of Eid, A Heart Full of Meaning

Nīkah Written by Qādr, Tested by Genotype Chapter Eighteen: A Day of Eid, A Heart Full of Meaning It was the day of Eid, and the morning carried a gentle breeze that moved through the air in a way that felt calm, refreshing, and filled with quiet joy. The atmosphere itself seemed to reflect a sense of renewal, as if the struggles we had gone through were being softened, even if only for a moment. The sky was clear, and the sounds of people preparing for the day could be heard from a distance, creating a feeling of unity that only such a day could bring. Sibghatullah stood before me, dressed in beautiful clothes that fit him perfectly, and I found myself looking at him longer than usual, because every moment like this carried a deeper meaning after everything we had been through. His appearance reflected growth, strength, and a kind of happiness that made my heart feel full. He adjusted his clothes with excitement, moving around with the energy of a child who understood that the da...

Chapter Seventeen: The Meaning We Finally Understood

Nīkah Written by Qādr, Tested by Genotype Chapter Seventeen: The Meaning We Finally Understood Genotype had become the central challenge in our lives in a way that we could no longer ignore or minimize, because it affected every part of our child’s existence with a consistency that shaped our daily reality. What once seemed like an unfamiliar concept had now turned into a constant presence that followed us through every stage of life, bringing with it repeated illness, continuous medical attention, and a cycle of difficulty that tested our patience over and over again. There were periods of relief, but they were often followed by moments of struggle, and this pattern became something we gradually accepted as part of our journey. The life of our child was marked by episodes of sickness that came more frequently than we ever expected, and each episode required attention, care, and resources that stretched us in ways we had never imagined before. We spent money continuously, not out ...

THE COMMAND TO SLAUGHTER HIM

FAJR REMINDER: THE COMMAND TO SLAUGHTER HIM By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Ḥijjah 14, 1447 (31-May-2026) The Muslims and the People of the Book (i.e. the Jews and Christians) agree that Ismā'īl was born before Isḥāq (‘Alayhimā Salām). Their own scripture states that Ismā'īl was born when Prophet Ibrāhīm (‘Alayhimā Salām) was eighty-six years old [Check Genesis 16:16], while Isḥāq (‘Alayhi Salām) was born when his father had reached one hundred years of age [Check Genesis 21:4] After leaving Hājar and Ismā'īl (‘Alayhimā Salām) in Makkah by the Command of Allāh, Prophet Ibrāhīm (‘Alayhi Salām) continued to visit them to check on their well-being. As Ismā'īl (‘Alayhi Salām) grew and became old enough to accompany his father and assist him, another tremendous trial awaited Prophet Ibrāhīm (‘Alayhi Salām). Allāh commanded him to sacrifice his beloved son. Concerning this event, Allāh (ﷻ) says: “And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: ‘O my son! I have seen in...

HER GREAT QUALITIES

FAJR REMINDER: HER GREAT QUALITIES By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Ḥijjah 13, 1447 (30-May-2026) Among the many noble qualities of our mother, Sawdah Bint Zam’ah Ibn Qays (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha), are traits that every Muslim should strive to acquire. Men, in particular, should encourage and assist their wives and daughters in cultivating these virtues. Like the other wives of the Prophet (ﷺ), Sawdah greatly valued knowledge and understood that sincere worship and righteous practice must be built upon learning the religion of Islām. Indeed, knowledge comes before action. It is unfortunate that some Muslims today believe they can act without first seeking knowledge. This misconception is one of the causes of Bid‘ah (innovation in Islām). Instead of referring to the Qur'ān and Sunnah, some rely on personal opinions and desires. As a result, they may falsely attribute statements to Allāh, speak about His Religion without knowledge, and even permit matters that He has not permitted, such as the consu...

EID REFLECTIONS AND GUIDANCE

*_DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER_* Yaum As-sabt | 13th day of Dhul-Ḥijjah, 1447 AH | Saturday, 30th May 2026.  *_EID REFLECTIONS AND GUIDANCE_*. BismilLah.  Alhamdulillāh! All praise is due to ALLAH Azzawajal who guided us through the blessed days of Dhul-Ḥijjah and enabled us to witness and benefit from them. We ask HIM to accept our Hajj, fasting, prayers, sacrifices, charity, du‘ā, and every righteous deed performed during these sacred days. For those whom ALLAH Azzawajal blessed with the opportunity to offer a sacrifice (Uḍḥiyah), we say Alhamdulillāh. And for those who sincerely intended to sacrifice but were unable to do so, may ALLAH Azzawajal accept their intentions and reward them according to their sincerity. May HE accept the Eid and sacrifices of all Muslims. Aameen. ALLAH Azzawajal says: "Say to Mankind, indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, an upright religion, the way of Ibrahim, inclining toward truth. And he was not among those who associated partner...

Wake Up Call* [[-2nd Episode-]]

*Wake Up Call* [[-2nd Episode-]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Ramadan is gone. The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are also gone. The two biggest seasons of mercy have packed up and left. Now the crowds have thinned. The mosques are less full. The late-night prayers have stopped for many people. And this is exactly where the test begins. Allah (swt) is watching who truly loves Him. Not the one who prays obligatory swalah ontime and Tahajjud in the middle of the night only when crowd is doing so. But the one who worships the same — or even harder — when the "special season" is over. My People, The part-time worshipper says, "Ramadan is over, so I can sleep through Fajr." The part-time worshipper says, "Dhul-Hijjah is done, so I don't need to give charity anymore." That person grows weaker in piety. Slowly, they return to their old self. Back to wasted time. Back to sins they had left for a few weeks. But, The full-time worshipper? They are ...

Wake Up Call

*Wake Up Call* [[-1st Episode-]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Dear Muslim, wake up. Yes. Wake up. Why? Because Ramadan has left. The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah have also come and gone. The special guests have packed their bags and walked away. So now what? Now comes the real test. Many people become angels in Ramadan. They pray on time, give charity, and cry in dua. In the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, they rush to do good deeds like never before. But after these seasons finish, they slowly go back to laziness. Back to missing prayers. Back to bad habits. Back to sins they left for a while. That is the sign of a part-time worshipper. They worship Allah (swt) only when the season feels special. When the month feels holy. When everyone around them is doing the same. But once things return to normal, their worship drops or dies. That is not true faith. Allah (SWT) does not have "special months only." He is the Lord of all months. All days belong to Him. All ni...

THE SPRING OF ZAMZAM

FAJR REMINDER: THE SPRING OF ZAMZAM By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Ḥijjah 11, 1447 (28-May-2026) You might have drank Zamzam water before. It may appear tasteless, but the moment it touches your tongue, it feels as though it reaches deep into your heart. Indeed, it is the best water on earth. The spring of Zamzam was miraculously brought forth in Makkah near Masjid al-Ḥarām by the Command of Allāh through an angel who struck the ground with his wing. But what exactly led to this great miracle? Before going into the story, listen to what the Prophet (ﷺ) said concerning Zamzam. Jābir Ibn ‘Abdillāh (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) said: “I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) say: ‘The water of Zamzam is for whatever it is drunk for.’” [Sunan Ibn Mājah 3062] Recall that Prophet Ibrāhīm left Hājar and the infant Isma’īl (‘Alayhim Salām) in the barren desert by the Command of Allāh. As the scorching days passed, their food finished, the water became exhausted, and Hājar’s milk dried up. Mother and child became e...
