*ZINA AND MASTURBATION*
Zina is when a man and a woman engage in an unlawful sexual intercourse whether they are married or not married. Zina is haram, one can only have intercourse with the opposite sex if they are lawfully married.
Masturbation is the act of seducing one's self in order to derive sexual gain by stimulating the penis (for men) or clitoris (for women). This act is also unlawful. But its gravity is not as powerful as that of zina. You can call it a lesser zina with one's self.
*Effects of masturbation.*
Scientifically, it reduces the strength of man's penis. And frequent mastur can causes internal tissue rapture. And it is adaptive, people who start find it difficult to stop. And people who do it find it difficult to get satisfaction in sexual intercourse. It make someone feel thr urge to commit zina. And it makes someone feel inclination towards same sex. Mastur destroys marriages bcos the men don't find their wives any suitable bcos they are use to it. And finally, it exposes one to pornography bcos one needs something to make them aroused before they start masturbation.
*Causes.*
Lack of fear of Allah, lack of gratitude to Allah. Gazing at the opposite sex. Engaging in acts that expose one to it such as watching movies with romance, mingling with women, vulgar discussion, negative thoughts about sex. And finally, failure to get married when time is due.
*How to stop.*
First, make dua to Allah to help you stop. Engage in fasting, fasting takes your mind away from dirty thoughts. Engage in constant ibada, this will take your mind away from it. Engage zikr or supplication to Allah. And avoid mingling with the opposite sex. Avoid staying alone in the room for hours doing nothing. Shaitan gets u there. Avoid watching pornography. Avoid watching movies with nudity. Avoid vulgar talks. Stay away from social media.
