Allah ﷻ says 

*وَما الْحَيَوةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلاَّ مَتَـعُ الْغُرُورِ*

_And the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment_

[3:185]

Meaning, this life is only a form of enjoyment that deceives those who incline to it. 

_

Allah ﷻ also says

*كَلاَّ بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ ▪ وَتَذَرُونَ الاٌّخِرَةَ*

_But no! You love the present worldly life! And you neglect the hereafter!_

[76:20-21]

Meaning, the only thing that has caused them to reject the Day of Judgement and oppose the true revelation and the Mighty Qur'an Allah ﷻ revealed to His Messenger is that their only concern is the present worldly life. They are preoccupied and distracted from the Hereafter.

_

Allah ﷻ warns us, He explicitly states and tells us time and time again, this world is nothing but a *temporary delusion!*

_

He ﷻ talks about those who only follows their desires 

*أَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ إِلَـهَهُ هَوَاهُ*

_Have you seen him who has taken as his god his own vain desire._

[45:23]

Meaning, whatever he admires and sees as good in his own desires becomes his religion and his way. 

*أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلاً*

_Would you then be a guardian over him._

*أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ*

_Or do you think that most of them hear or understand_

*إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَالْأَنْعَامِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا*

_They are only like cattle -- nay, they are even farther astray from the path._

[25:43-44]

Our Desires are the Dunya and its pleasures! 

And to let go of it is to be saved from it! 

_

The salaf were able to push away the Dunya and only be concerned with Al Akhirah. 

This is why Prophet ﷺ said:

*كن في الدينا كانك غريب*

_Be in this Dunya, as if you are a stranger._

[Sahih Bukhari 6053]

_

In a time where there is much Fitnah, when there is much Killing and Destruction in the Muslim Ummah, 

We must be on the path of Truth! The Straight Path.

_ 

May Allah ﷻ make us among those who are firmly guided on the straight path and protect us from every fitna.

*آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ*
