Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
_“Richness does not lie in the abundance of (worldly) goods but richness is the richness of the soul (selfcontentment).”_
[Sahih al-Bukhari 6446 and Sahih Muslim 1041]

Abdullah ibn Amr رضي الله عنه reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
*قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ وَرُزِقَ كَفَافًا وَقَنَّعَهُ اللَّهُ بِمَا آتَاهُ*
_“He has succeeded who embraces Islam, whose provision is sufficient, and whom Allah has made content with what he has given him.”_
[Sahih Muslim 1054]

Narrated Hakim bin Hizam رضي الله عنه:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
_“This wealth is (like) green and sweet (fruit), and whoever takes it without greed, Allah will bless it for him, but whoever takes it with greed, Allah will not bless it for him, and he will be like the one who eats but is never satisfied. And the upper (giving) hand is better than the lower (taking) hand.”_
[Sahih al-Bukhari 6441]

Mu'awiya رضي الله عنه reported:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, _“Do not be persistent in begging. By Allah, if one of you asks me for something and I bring out what he asked for and give it to him unwillingly, there is no blessing in it.”_
