*MATERIALISTIC FALLACY OF THIS DUNYA*

Allah ﷻ says in the Glorious Qur'an:

*يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَٰلُكُمْ وَلَآ أَوْلَٰدُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَٰسِرُونَ*

_O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that - then those are the losers._

[63:9]

Allah ﷻ also says:

*ٱلَّذِى جَمَعَ مَالًۭا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ*

_Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it._

[104:2]

Meaning, he gathers it piling some of it on top of the rest and he counts it up. 

This is similar to Allah ﷻ saying :

*وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰٓ*

_And collected [wealth] and hoarded._

 [70:18]

Ibn Kathir رحمه الله further explains that: _"He hid it and refused to give the obligatory right of Allah that was due on it of spending and paying the Zakah"._

The wealth and abilities given to a man is a trust from Allah ﷻ which means that they should be used in a right way in other not to be a loser in the hereafter. 

Ibn Wahb reported: Malik  رحمه الله said to me:

_“The greatest loser among people is one who sold his Hereafter for his share of the world, and an even greater loser is one who sold his Hereafter for someone else’s share of the world.”_

 [Jāmi’ Bayān al-‘Ilm 2/906]

This should serve as a reminder when you are alive, that everything in this Dunya is temporary and everything will come to an end.

And it will serve as the mark of the end of the life which you spent striving to increase wealth, it will serve as the next stopping point for the soul as it journeys further into Al Akhirah, waiting for Yawm Al Qiyamah.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

_“Remember often the destroyer of pleasures,”_ by which he meant *death.*

[Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2307]

Remembering death brings us back to the real world, it creates Taqwa and makes us remember Allah ﷻ, therefore allowing us to abstain from sinning.

Reflect and ask yourself where you want to be in the Hereafter!

*In Joy because you will spend eternity in eternal bliss?*

*Or in woe because you will spend your term in a disgraceful punishment?*

_

Remember Oh Ibn Adam!  Life is like the time between the Adhaan and Salah! 

_

May Allah ﷻ guide us all and make us among the righteous.  

*آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ*
