LESSONS FROM SUURATUL FAATIHAH

 THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Ahad. 26th day of Jumaadal Awwal, 1445AH (Sunday, 10th December, 2023). *_LESSONS FROM SUURATUL FAATIHAH_*. BismilLah.

ALLAH taught us in the Qur'an to say in suuratul Faatihah;

“Guide us along the Straight Way/path. The way of those whom You have bestowed Your Grace. Not of those who earn Your anger, nor of those who go astray.” (Qur’an, 1 vs 6-7).

When we examine these verses, we find that it has some very interesting qualities that make it a unique prayer. In a short examination of the above verses, we will find guidance on:

Having humility as a servant of ALLAH subhanahu wa ta’ala (Glorified is HE) in the community. Ascribing success to ALLAH (swt) and not to oneself. The comprehensiveness of Islam. The social nature of the Islamic message.

As we explore the garden of Suuratul Faatihah, we will pick these four fruits for today in Shaa ALLAH.

1. Humility

In this prayer which ALLAH (swt) revealed to us, it is clear that we are to ask for guidance upon the Straight Way. However, the nature of this path, its location, its signs, its characteristics, and its direction are all left out. We are given no indication as to how to get there, how to find the map for it. Instead, the path is described in one single way: “The Path of Those Whom You Have Favored”.

It is interesting that rather than pointing to concepts or ideas for the individual to discover on one’s own, ALLAH (swt) pointed to people. He tells us that this path is found with those whom HIS favor is upon. What is the point of doing this?

It has immediately turned us into students. We are seeking this path and when ALLAH (swt) points to the people whom HE has favored, our minds become fixed on seeking out these people. Who are they? How can we be like them? How can we join their company? Rather than allowing us to feel arrogant that we are on the Straight Path as Christians think Jesus Christ peace be upon him died for their sins so that's it regardless whatever evil or sins they commit, they are safed, funny isn't it?, we Muslims have to belief then act upon doing the right thing through a way of life that other successful people who may already be there. But again…who are they? ALLAH  did mention these groups of people who were successful in Qur'an 4 vs 69 as follows;

"And whoever obeys ALLAH and the Messenger are in the company of those on whom is the Grace of ALLAH, among them are the prophets (who teach), the sincere (lovers of Truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the Righteous (who do good): Ah! what a beautiful fellowship!” ALLAHU AKBAR.

Getting interesting, isn't it? Do you want us to explore more? Then don't miss tomorrow's reminder in shaa ALLAH.

*_May ALLAH keep guiding us all and protect us from any satanic influences_*. Aameen.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

 DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

Friday and it's dignity.

 Friday and it's dignity. O you who have believed, when [the adhān] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumuʿah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allāh and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew. Friday is the best day of the week because it was the day Adam was created, the day he entered paradise and the day he was removed from paradise. it was also the day he died and the hour(qiyaamah) will not come except on this day. Sahih. It was narrated from Aws bin Aws that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever washes (ghassala) and performs ghusl, comes early to the masjid and sits near the imam and does not engage in idle talk, he will have for every step he takes (the reward of) a year's worth of good deeds, fasting it and...

The story of taqwa

 The story of taqwa. Taqwa means fear of Allah. There once lived a young woman who was very beautiful lady and had all the qualities a man needed. She was well covered and oneday ,she was attacked with her families. This woman was taken away and brought to a man who was the bandits leader. As she was brought, the man wanted to sleep with her as she was so sad and in pain. As she undressed and coming to her, she said fear Allah and know death can come to you now. If you have a mother or sister like me, don't disgrace and destroy my honor for I won't forgive you  The leader immediately remembered he had a sister he loved a lot and so he quickly stopped and dressed and said to the lady, you can go. All the bandits were amazed of what their leader did. Three days later,the man whose sister was there and everyone in the sister knew her brother was wicked man. So every man was sacred. So a stranger walking by saw his sister and he felt in love with her. She went to her and said I wa...
