FAJR REMINDER: *AVOID TIME-WASTERS!*

The blessing of time is one of the greatest blessings that Allah can bestow upon His slaves, but most people are unaware of it's importance. What needs to be filled with acts of gratitude and obedience towards Allah is now wasted. Ibn Abbas (RadiyaLlahu 'Anhu) reported (as recorded in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī): *The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “There are two blessings which many people waste: health and free time.”*
The Prophet (ﷺ) advised in a Hadith, to take benefit of five things (before the opposite five) one of which is time. Ibn Abbas reported (as recorded in Shu’ab al-Imān 9575): *The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age, your health before your illness, your riches before your poverty, YOUR FREE TIME BEFORE YOUR PREOCCUPATION, and your life before your death.”*
According to a study, social media is a major time-waster. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc. use up most of our free
time. Wasting time on idle things is not recommended in Islam. We should try to always wisely use our free time by remembering Allah and being productive. From now on, give Qur’an, Dhikr, Salat, etc. the greater time to prepare for the month of Qur’an and Sawm; Ramadan. Remember, things that matter most should never be at the mercy of things that matter least.
I beseech Allah to grant us a productive life.
