*THE COMMAND TO ENJOIN WHAT IS RIGHT AND FORBID WHAT IS WRONG*

*Its Rewards and its Punishments*

Most of us tend to overlook sins which can attract the punishment of Allaah (ﷻ) because it has become a norm to almost everyone and the society at whole. 

_

As Muslims we should always remember that almost anything we do attracts either punishment or reward from Allaah (ﷻ). 

Allaah (ﷻ)j says in the Holy Qur'an

*وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِۚ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُون*َ 

_And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful._

*(Aal-e-Imran 3:104)*

_

Again He (ﷻ) says;

*فَٱصۡدَعۡ بِمَا تُؤۡمَرُ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ*

_Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists._

*(Al-Hijr, Ayah 94)*

_

In another Ayat, Allaah (ﷻ) says, 

*خُذِ ٱلۡعَفۡوَ وَأۡمُرۡ بِٱلۡعُرۡفِ وَأَعۡرِضۡ عَنِ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ*

_Take what is given freely, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant._

*(Al-A'raf, Ayah 199)*

_

Hudhayfa bin Al-Yaman (رضي الله عنه) said, the Prophet (ﷺ)  said, *_By He in whose Hand is my soul!, you will enjoin righteousness and forbid evil, or Allaah shall send down a punishment from Him to you. Then you will supplicate to Him, but He will not accept your supplication._*

(Imam At-Tirmidhi collected this hadith and graded it Hasan in Sunan at-Tirmidhī 2169).

May Allaah (ﷻ) make us among those who enjoin righteousness and may He grant us the reward in it.
