The story to reflect.
Never exchange your Deen for dunya.
There once lived a young imam energetic imam who for twenty years had been an imam and never skip the leadership.
He was loved and praised by the people and the old too.
One-day, he raise up and then had a thought why I am poor and being imam and people don't value me.
These people loved him but never said it to him.
But he felt people don't value him so Satan started saying stop the imam and seek wealth.
The imam resigned and started going to the market. In the market, he will go and hardly will he make an income. So he said to himself, look at my closer neighbor, he used to deceive people and get wealth, let me do the same.
He decided to follow the footsteps of this friend and was getting money. He was anxious for more and never satisfied. He started to miss the prayer and have no time because the time of the prayer was time business was profitable.
Things keep getting worse and he one-day saw a beautiful lady, this lady was so charming and he felt in love with her.
The lady said to him,
I want you to stop being a Muslim and I will marry you.
The imam smiled and said is that what you want?
It is easy and now I am not a Muslim.
Immediately, the angel of death came and took his soul and died upon disbelief.
Subhan Allah, this reminds us of the beautiful hadith of Rasulullah salla Allaahu alayhi wasalam saying,
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed:
Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night. During (that stormy period) a man would be a Muslim in the morning and an unbeliever in the evening or he would be a believer in the evening andan unbeliever in the morning, and would sell his faith for worldly goods.
Sahih Muslim 118.
May Allah make our end the best and be pleased with us at our time of death.
Aamiin
