*Death* is the action or fact of dying or being killed; the end of the life of a person or organism. It is also a state of being death. As said mostly in the Quran all human beings will die in the end. Obviously our Noble Prophet Muhammed pbuh was born on Monday and died on the same Monday. Death is what we should also be thinking of, as it makes one becomes critical of his life. Losing loved ones is something that’s not easy in life.

Death of a loved one is such a painful experience. It's heart-wrenching and devastating. You loved them so much. And now you can't believe they're gone. But you still want to benefit them and do something for them that will earn them rewards from Allaah Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala
even after they're gone.
So what can one do to benefit those who have passed away according to the Qur'aan and authentic Sunnah?.

▫️. *Du'aa*

Allaah speaks well of those who prayed for their deceased Muslim brothers. He says:

"And those who came after them say: "Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith..." (Surah al-Hashr :10)

🍃 Abu Hurayrah radhi Allaahu anhu said:
"The Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam told us of the death of the Negus, the king of Ethiopia, on the day that he died, and said, 'PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS for your brother."
(al-Bukhaari, Muslim).

🍃 Uthmaan ibn 'Affaan radhi Allaahu anhu said:
"When the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam finished burying someone who had died, he would stand over him and say, 'Pray for forgiveness for your brother, and ask that he may be made steadfast, for even now he is being questioned.'"
(Abu Dawood, saheeh)

🍃 The Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam said:
"A man's status will be raised in Paradise and he will ask, 'How did I get here?'
He will be told, 'By your son's (or daughter) du'aa's for forgiveness for you."
(Ibn Maajah, Saheeh).

🍃 Ibn al-Qayyim said:
"The fact that the dead benefit from du'aa's is indicated by the consensus of the ummah on offering du'aa' for him during the janaazah prayer, hence we know that du'aa' benefits the deceased... This is supported by many ahaadeeth and is in fact is the whole point of praying for the deceased.
The same applies to making du'aa' for him after the burial and making du'aa' for them when visiting their graves."
(al-Rooh).

▫️*Making up fasts that were obligatory upon the deceased*

🍃The Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam said:
"Whoever dies and had any fasts outstanding, his heir should observe those fasts on his behalf."
(al-Bukhaari, Muslim)

🍃Once woman came to the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam and said,
'My mother has died and she one month's fasting outstanding.'

He said, 'Do you not think that if she was in debt, you would pay it off for her?'
She said, 'Yes.'
He said, 'The debt owed to Allaah is more deserving of being paid off.'" (al-Bukhaari, Muslim).
___*PAGE 7*___.                                     ✍️...

Remember these are the fasts that were FARDH on the deceased.
One can NOT fast nafl fasts on behalf of the deceased.                                     ▫️ *Paying off debts*

Debt is a very serious matter in Islaam and a person's entry into Jannah is DELAYED because of any debt he may have, even if he may be righteous. That's why one of the best favors you can do for your deceased loved one is to pay off their debts as soon as possible.
___*PAGE 8*___.                                  ✍️...

🍃The Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam said:

"By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if a man were killed in battle for the sake of Allaah, then brought back to life, then killed and brought back to life again, then killed, and he owed a debt, he would not enter Paradise until his debt was paid off."
(al-Nasaa'i- hasan).

🍃Salamah ibn al-Akwa' radhi Allaahu anhu said:
"We were sitting with the Prophet
Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam when a funeral bier was brought to him and they said, 'Pray over him.'
He said, 'Does he have any debts?' They said, 'No.'
He said, 'Has he left anything behind?'
They said, 'No.'
So he prayed over him.
Then another funeral bier was brought to him, and they said, 'O Messenger of Allaah, pray for him’.

They said, 'Yes.'
He said, 'Has he left anything behind?'
They said, 'Three dinars.'
So he prayed over him.
Then a third funeral bier was brought, and they said, 'Pray for him.'
He said, 'Has he left anything behind?'
They said, 'No.' He said, 'Does he have any debts?'
They said, 'Three dinars.'
He said, 'Pray for your companion.' Abu Qutaadah said, 'Pray for him, O Messenger of Allaah, and I will take care of his debt.'
So he prayed over him."
(al-Bukhaari).

▫️ *Fulfilling vows to do acts of worship*

Although making vows is something that's not encouraged in our deen, if one has made a vow, he has to fulfill it as soon as possible.

🍃 A woman from Juhaynah came to the Prophet Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam and said:
"My mother vowed to go for Hajj, but she did not go for Hajj before she died.
Should I do Hajj on her behalf?"
He said, "Yes, do Hajj on her behalf. Do you not think that if your mother was in debt you would pay it off for her?
Pay off the debt that is owed to Allaah, for Allaah is more deserving that what is owed to Him should be paid off."
(al-Bukhaari).

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
