*Pick Your Calls*
[[--Episode 7--]]------------------
بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم
Every year, Allah (swt) invites us to a special cleaning. Not of our clothes, but of our faith. Our souls get dirty. With lies, with jealousy, with talking about people, with wasting time.
Allah (swt) says the goal of fasting is this: "that you may become righteous" 📚(2:183). To become clean inside and out.
So think:
If you finish Ramadan and your faith is not cleaner, stronger, and brighter... what was all the hunger for?
The Prophet (peace be upon him) gave a scary warning. He said if someone fasts but still lies, backbites, or does evil, Allah (swt) will say: "I do not need you to leave your food and drink." The fast is rejected.
The Real Fast: Lock Your Tongue.
Yes!
Fasting is more than no food, no water. It is no gossip. No backbiting. No "listening to music or watching movies".
What is backbiting?
The Prophet explained: "It is talking about your Muslim brother or sister in a way they would hate if they heard it. Even if it's true. If it's false, it's an even worse sin.” 📚Source: Sahih Muslim 2589
This is the silent thief that steals your good deeds.
You Could End Ramadan Bankrupt.
Imagine this:
You work hard all Ramadan. You pray. You fast. You give charity. You gather trillions of good deeds in your account. Then, Judgment Day comes. People you talked about start lining up. The sister whose marriage you discussed. The brother whose money you questioned. They each take from your trillion of good deeds to pay for the harm you did with your tongue. Your good deeds run out. You are spiritually bankrupt. All that hunger... for nothing. Because you didn't guard your tongue.
This Ramadan Can Be Different. Your Best Ever.
This is the mind-blowing part: You can stop this now. You can prepare.
How?
(1) Start NOW. Don't wait for Ramadan. From today, catch your tongue. Before you speak about someone, ask: "Would they be hurt if they heard this? Is this my business?" If yes, stop. Swallow the words like you swallow food in a fast.
(2) See Every Muslim as Precious. That sister who is 30? Her life is not your topic. That brother with new shoes? His story is not your news. They are your family in faith. Protect them, don't inspect them.
(3) Trade Gossip for Dhikr. Yes. When you want to chat, say instead: "SubhanAllah" (Glory to Allah), "Astaghfirullah" (I seek Allah's forgiveness). Fill the space with good words.
This Ramadan, let's aim for a complete clean. Inside and out.
Let your hunger mean something. Let your thirst be for Allah's pleasure, not for talking about His servants.
Dry Clean yourself before Ramadan. Drop off your dirty habits. Pick up a pure, shining faith.
Prepare your soul. Lock your tongue. And let this be the Ramadan where you don't just get hungry... you get better.
May Allah accept our fasts and make us among those who are truly righteous. Ameen Ya Hayyu La Yamootu.
