FAJR REMINDER: ALLĀH IS WITH YOU!

Patience (Ṣabr) is not merely about enduring hardship; it is an intentional act of Eemān grounded in faith in Allāh’s Wisdom. In the Qur’ān, Allāh reassures the believers: “O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allāh is with the patient.” [Sūrah Al-Baqarah (2):153] This promise establishes patience as a pathway to attaining Allāh’s Companionship, Support, and Guidance, particularly during times when the heart feels overwhelmed and the future appears uncertain.
The lives of the Prophets vividly illustrate this truth. Prophet Ayyūb (ʿAlayhi Salām) faced prolonged illness, loss, and isolation, yet his patience never faltered into despair or complaints against Allāh. His supplications were filled with humility and hope, and Allāh praised him, stating: “Indeed, We found him patient. An excellent servant! Indeed, he was one who constantly turned back to Allāh.” [Sūrah Sad (38):44] His narrative serves as a reminder that patience does not postpone Allāh’s Mercy; rather, it readies the heart to receive it.
In the same vein, the Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) experienced rejection, persecution, and profound personal loss, yet he remained unwavering. He taught the Ummah that patience is rewarded without measure, declaring: “No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allāh expiates some of his sins for that.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5642] This Ḥadīth transforms hardship into a means of purification and elevation rather than a sign of abandonment.
To be patient is to firmly believe that Allāh sees, knows, and is near. When trials persist and answers seem delayed, patience evolves into an act of worship that draws the servant closer to the Creator. Hold steadfastly to this promise: Allāh is with you, not only after the hardship but also amid it. And whoever Allāh stands with can never be truly alone.
I beseech Allāh to instill within our hearts true patience and firmly anchor us in trust in Him. Aameen.
