*Remain Focused*
[[--- Part 10 ----]]------------------
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Think about the last ten nights. Think about Aisha (may Allah be be pleased with her). She told us: “The Prophet (pbuh) used to practice Itikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan till he died. He did it every single year until he left this world and then his wives used to practice Itikaf after him.” 📚[Hadith No. 2026, Book of Itikaf, Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 3]
Why?
Because he knew something we forget.
*The Problem:*
Usually, our Ramadan just… slips away. We unconsciously gossip, we sit doing nothing, we watch TV, we scroll on our phones. The days pass. We feel empty inside.
But the Last Ten Nights?
They are not normal nights.
*The Secret:*
Somewhere inside these dark nights is a night better than a thousand months. Do you understand that?
One thousand months is more than 83 years!
If you pray on Laylatul Qadr, it is like you worshipped Allah (swt) for 83 years straight.
But how do you find it? How do you make sure you catch it?
*The Answer: Itikaf*
This is why the Prophet (PBUH) did Itikaf. He would sit in the Masjid for ten days. He would not leave.
If you sit in Itikaf, you cannot miss Laylatul Qadr. You are right there, waiting for it. You are inside the house of Allah when the angels come down. You are there when the peace fills the mosque. You are alone with your Creator while the rest of the world is sleeping.
Imagine This
Imagine walking out of the Masjid on Eid morning. The sun is rising. You walk out, and you are not the same person who went in. Your heart feels light. You feel like your sins have been washed away.
Why? Because you spent ten days with the King of the Universe. You left your soft bed. You left your phone. You did it for Him.
My People,
A Warning (So You Can Protect Your Itikaf)
We need to be careful. If you do Itikaf, you must protect it. Here is what breaks your Itikaf. Continuation of the last episode:
(3) Sexual intercourse with your spouse. You must stay away from this during the days of Itikaf.
(4) For sisters: Menstruation or post-childbirth bleeding. If this happens, you must quietly leave the mosque. Your Itikaf stops. You go home, and you can come back when it is finished. Do not be sad. Allah (swt) understands our nature.
(5) Being very sick. If you get sick and you cannot stay in the mosque, you must go home. Your Itikaf is over. Go home and rest. Your health is also a trust from Allah (swt).
My People,
This Year, Be Different. This year, do not just fast like you always do. Do not let this month pass you by like it was just another month on the calendar.
Make a plan. Ask your family. Book your spot in the Masjid for the last ten days. Leave your bed. Leave the world. Go to Allah (swt).
Come out on Eid morning as a brand new person.
To be continued...
