One of the famous companion of the Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallim), Hazrat Ka'ab bin Ujrah (radi Allahu anhu), narrates that once it was enquired from Rasoolullah (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallim) as to how blessings should be sent to him as commanded by ALLAH. The Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallim) replied that the blessings be said in this manner
"ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA ALAA AALI MUHAMMADIN KAMAA SWALLAITA ALAA IBRAHIIMA WA ALAA AALI IBRAHIIMA INNAKA HAMIIDUM MAJIID. ALLAHUMMA BAARIK ALAA MUHAMMADIW WA ALAA AALI MUHAMMADIN KAMAA BAARAKTA ALAA IBRAHIIMA WA ALAA AALI IBRAHIIMA INNAKA HAMIODUM MAJIID.
MEANING:
"O ALLAH, let Your Blessings come upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as you have blessed Ibrahim and his family. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
