THE BOOK OF SALAAT (PRAYER)

 *THE BOOK OF SALAAT (PRAYER)*

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

*AL-JUMU'A[2] PRAYER-1*

*354.* Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar and Abu Huraira _رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ_ They heard Allah's Messenger ﷺ say (while standing) upon the planks of his pulpit: "People must cease to neglect the Friday prayers, or else Allah will seal their hearts and then they will be among the unmindful." [Reported by Muslim].

*355.* Narrated Salama[3] bin Al-Akwa' _رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ_ We used to offer the Friday prayer with Allah's Messenger ﷺ and return (to our homes) while the walls had no shade[4] for us to go under (at that time)[5]. [Agreed upon. This is the wording of Al-Bukhāri].

And in a narration of Muslim: "We used to offer the Friday prayers with him (Allah's Messenger ﷺ) when the sun passed the meridian. We would then return and try to find the afternoon shadow.

*NOTES:*

*[2]* The day of Jumu'a (Friday) was known as Al-'Arūba during Jahiliya times (the pre-Islamic period). Islam named it Jumu'a as the Muslims of a city gather at one place in congregation to offer prayers to Allah the All-Mighty. In addition to this, there are a few other reasons also.

*[3]* He is Abu Muslim, Salama bin 'Amr bin Al-Akwa' Sinan bin 'Abdullah Al-Aslami Al-Madani. He was one of the bravest Sahaba, and used to run faster than a horse with his feet. He was good, pious and generous. He died at Al-Madinah in 74 H.

*[4]* This Hadith clearly states that the Prophet ﷺ used to end his Jumu'a prayer at a time while the shades of the walls were insufficient to cover the people i.e., the Jumu'a prayer was performed at an early time.

*[5]* According to Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, it is permissible to start performing Friday's prayer , before Zawal (the declining of the sun). The rest of the Imams and the majority of scholars observe that the Friday prayer must be performed immediately after Zawal. During present times, it has become a practice to delay the Jumu'a prayer much more, even later than the Zuhr prayer itself, which is against the tradition of the Prophet ﷺ.

GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 28th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Tuesday 7th May 2024). *_GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD_*. Aameen.  Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (SallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "Charity is obligatory everyday on every joint of a human being.* If one helps a person in matters concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride on it or by lifting his luggage on to it, all these will be regarded as charity. A good word, and every step one takes to offer the compulsory congregational prayer is regarded as charity; and guiding somebody on the road is regarded as charity." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 4/2891]. To show gratitude to ALLAH for keeping your body safe and sound, you should give in charity or do charitable deeds. Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: ALLAH'S Messenger (sallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one w

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will p
