FAJR REMINDER: THE GATES AND THE LEVELS OF HELL By: Umm Affān Dhū al-Qa'dah 12, 1447 (30-April-2026) Just as Jannah (Paradise) has gates prepared for its people, Hell too has gates awaiting its inhabitants. Allāh says: “So enter the gates of Hell, to dwell therein. Thus evil indeed is the abode of the arrogant.” [Sūrah An-Naḥl (16): 29] While Jannah is blessed with eight gates, Hell has seven. Each of these gates has been assigned a specific group from among the followers of Shayṭān. Every individual will enter through a gate that corresponds to their deeds, and their place within Hell will also be determined by what they earned in this world. Allāh says: “To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned.” [Surah Al-Ḥijr (15): 44] The levels of Hell vary, and they are not all the same.
