FAJR REMINDER: THE TERRIBLE ABODE!

Dhū al-Qa'dah 10, 1447 (28-April-2026)
Many people live as though this worldly life is all that matters. They chase enjoyment without caring whether the means are lawful or unlawful, thinking they must satisfy every desire before death comes. Some even deny the existence of the Hereafter altogether. But the Hereafter is true, certain, and far greater than this temporary life. A wise person does not become fooled by the glitter of this world while neglecting what lies ahead. We must strive seriously to protect ourselves from Hell, for it is the most dreadful destination. Allāh says: “Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, And leave (neglect) the Hereafter.” [Sūrah Al-Qiyāmah (75): 20-21]
As Muslims, our focus should never be limited to this world alone. We live here, but our hearts are attached to the life to come. Success is not measured by wealth, pleasure, or status, but by attaining the Pleasure of Allāh and safety in the Hereafter. Those who rebel against Allāh and choose worldly desires over obedience are clearly warned. Allāh says: “Then, for him who Tagha (transgressed all bounds, in disbelief, oppression and evil deeds of disobedience to Allāh). And preferred the life of this world (by following his evil desires and lusts). Verily, his abode will be Hell-Fire.” [Sūrah An-Nāzi’āt (79): 37-39]
Dear brethren, Hell is not something to be taken lightly. Its torment is beyond human imagination. Abū Hurayrah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: “Your fire is only one part out of seventy parts of Hell-Fire.” Someone asked: “O Messenger of Allāh! By Allāh, the fire in the world is enough.” He (ﷺ) said: “Hell-Fire was made sixty-nine times severe than the fire in the world. The temperature of one of them is like the temperature of the whole fires of the world.” [Ṣaḥiḥ al-Bukhārī 3265]
Subḥānallāh! Yet many people continue to sin boldly, as though they are safe from the Punishment of their Lord. They persist in evil, oppress others, abandon obligations, and live carelessly without repentance. This is a dangerous path. No one known for evil should assume they can outrun the Punishment of Allāh. His Justice is perfect, and none can escape His Grasp. Allāh says: “Consider not that the disbelievers can escape in the land. Their abode shall be the Fire, and worst indeed is that destination.” [Sūrah An-Nūr (24): 57]
We must sincerely fear that terrible abode and constantly seek refuge in Allāh from it. True intelligence is not in living only for this life, but in preparing for the next. Let us repent, obey our Lord, and walk the path that leads to Jannah rather than destruction.
I beseech Allāh to save us from Hell-Fire and grant us His Mercy. Aameen.
