FAJR REMINDER: MEN AND WOMEN IN PARADISE
By: Umm Affān
Shawwāl 25, 1447 (13-April-2026)
Men and women share equally in the promise of Jannah (Paradise). Whoever truly believes, performs righteous deeds, and dies upon Eemān (Belief)—whether male or female—will be granted entry into Paradise. This is a clear and beautiful assurance from Allāh: “Allāh has promised to the believers – men and women, - Gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein forever, and beautiful mansions in Gardens of ‘Adn (Eden Paradise). But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of Allāh. That is the supreme success.” [Sūrah At-Tawbah (9): 72]
Furthermore, the blessings of Jannah include being reunited with one’s righteous spouse. A man who enters Paradise will be joined by his believing wife (or wives) who also attained it. Allāh says: “Enter Paradise, you and your wives, in happiness.” [Sūrah Az-Zukhruf (43): 70] And He also says: “They and their wives will be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones.” [Sūrah Ya Sīn (36): 56]
As for life in Jannah, it is eternal and filled with unending joy. Death itself will be eliminated, as it will be brought and sacrificed between Paradise and Hell. Then it will be proclaimed: “...O people of Paradise, there is everlasting life for you and no death! And it will be said: O people of Hellfire, there is everlasting life for you and no death!” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 4730, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2849]
With death no longer in existence, the people of Paradise will remain there forever in bliss and delight, while the people of Hell will continue in their punishment without end. Concerning the believers, Allāh says: “On the Day you shall see the believing men and the believing women their light running forward before them and by their right hand. Glad tidings for you this Day! Garden under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever! Truly, this is the great success!” [Sūrah Al-Ḥadīd (57): 12] And regarding the disbelievers, He says: “And they (i.e. the disbelievers) will cry: “O Mālik (Keeper of Hell)! Let your Lord make an end of us.” He will say: “Verily you shall abide forever.” [Sūrah Az-Zukhruf (43): 77]
I humbly beseech Allāh to grant us entry into Jannah and protect us from the torment of Hell. Aameen.
